Using illusion

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 9:15 am

On my new warrior I picked Illusion as a major to help me an in combat and make some variation.

Problem is that I barey use it in normal fights because I have not needed it. Should I just boost it for some lvls?

Also noticed this with restoration, even if I use it regulary and it's a major it lvls slow and falls behind bit. Should I try and keep all my majors at even skill?

What else could be useful for my warrior except frenzy to control multiple enemies? Also my magicka is kinda low, started at 60, now 100+ boosting int +5 every lvl, I calcuated and it will end up around 200 magicka at max int, will that be enough later?

Thanks for any tips.

As your skill level in each magic school increases, the cost, magicka-wise of your spells, decreases. Two hundred should be enough for all vanilla spells, given that you are at 100 in the schools of magic that you are striving in. Note that certain illusion spells, specifically command and frenzy, do not work on enemies above level 25, unless you are at 100% spell effectiveness, meaning no armor.

The best illusion spells to be had are at journeyman level and up. Illusion is a major for me, and while it lags behind my other majors (destruction and conjuration) it's not far behind, about ten skill levels. This is normal play with no spamming.

Don't overlook Calm. You can cast a Calm on Touch when you're fighting somebody, and he'll stop fighting. Then you can whack him when his guard is down. :)

Undead and Daedra are immune. I am not sure about other creatures, like wolves or imps.
