I went back to Oblivion today

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 4:19 pm

And... I loved it! Played it for the first time since september 2011, as i stopped because of the Skyrim hypetrain and i was getting bored of it to be honest.

But, those several months break and having a fresh experience in between (Skyrim) have healed my beloved Oblivion, and for the first time in a long time i'm really enjoying playing it. So many things i love about Cyrodiil, the forests, music, dumb AI conversations (comedy gold) and attributes!

Skyrims great and fun and all but it's good to come home...

I don′t think I will stop playing for a few months, but with my gaming in the Capital Waste I′m sure that′s enough to enjoy Cyrodiil even more :)

The game I meant was Fallout 3. I said the Capital Waste because that′s what the area in the game is called, much like the area in Oblivion is called Cyrodiil. And it′s not pretty like Cyrodiil which brings me to my point; the beautiful and thriving forests of Cyrodiil will always bring me back

Some people might well imagine that he was referring to today's political landscape. ;)

Yeah, Oblivion has some great side quests that Skyrim hasn't done much to surpass, with the except ion of Sam Guvenne's quest. I'm talking about Oblivion's...
Spoiler
painting quest, the dream quest, two sides of the same coin, horn of pinarus quest ( the quest in Anvil involving the flowing bowl inn ), whodunnit, etc.

I think I should add a poll on which politician most deserves the title of Capital Waste. Nah, they'd all win.

By my reckoning the whole game is a visualisation of today′s politics

Lent my friend my game on Xbox, considering buying it on PC seeing as I've wanted it for a while and he keeps forgetting it... What do you guys think? 5th Anniversary Edition's only around £12 on Amazon and I've never played Shivering Isles, so that will be nice

I only recently bought it (about a month ago) and I absolutely love it. Skyrim was my first Elder Scrolls game, so I naturally prefer it, but Oblivion is catching up very quickly. I love the quests, the people, THE WORLD! It makes me a little upset about the state of the Empire in the fourth era, though ...

I tried to play Oblivion before I got Skyrim (for Christmas) and my copy doesn't work because I've played it so many times! I bought the Xbox 360 purely for Oblivion and it was the first 360 game I bought. I will always keep my copy as I have gone through so much with it. Also, a month after I get Skyrim my Xbox breaks

I'm trying to think of a name for my new character right now after doing the Main Quest of Skyrim last night. It was awesome and I loved it. After many hundreds of hours since 11.11.11, it was a lot of fun and now I think I'd like to create an ancestor for my Skyrim character in Cyrodiil. I have a new build in mind that I'd never tried and as soon as I can think of a name I'm happy with, I'm on my way! See you in Cyrodiil. :tes:

Kicenna, if you're stuck, tell us the name of your Skyrim character and maybe one of us can help you think of a name. The folks in this forum are certified experts at coming up with names and have helped many players think of some really cool names in the past.

Aye, just start a new "help me name my character" topic, and you will get plenty of ideas. Besides, it is one of the more fun kinds of threads.

Thank you. I didn't see these suggestions until after I'd made my character but I'm going to remember that for next time and check out that thread too. My first Skyrim character is Evaliir Srinna, Breton, battlemage but more mage than warrior. She hasn't finished Skyrim yet but she will; she has a few cousins, Adon (on PS3) and Kiir Srinna (will be on PC). Kiir Srinna will be for a future Skyrim. I decided on Amarie Srinna for this new Oblivion game and she'll be their ancestor...still working on her full story (she'll let me know what it is) but she'll be using Illusion and Marksman, Conjuration, Alteration, Destruction, all the magic.

You'll laugh about what happened tonight. I forgot how weak I was in my Level 1 of Oblivion after just playing a fairly powerful character for the MQ of Skyrim and a mud crab just killed Amarie. I'm glad I don't play Did. I'm really enjoying the game though. :) :tes:
