Does anyone use this?

I used it for a while when I had a very limited amount of ram. I didn't have any real problems with it except I had to kill Malwarebytes through the process manager. The memory it cleared for me was negligible but the increase in cpu time available for Oblivion was decent.

I've used it for Microsoft Flight Simulator (FSX) with questionable results. It may have given me a few FPS while activated but I never noticed any major "boost". It was easily installed and un-installed so you might try it and see for yourself.I think the results vary widely from system to system.

Gamebooster 2.3 is good to defrag your game folder when you can't be f'd to defrag the whole drive. Don't update it, though. The new version will bug you to buy.

OP: I've used it once but never felt a big difference. Try it yourself and do what you want.

On my older laptop I sometimes play XP games which won't run on Windows 7. And that laptop is as slow as oblivion. I use gamebooster not just to boost games but boost the entire laptop system. It's not perfect and ofcourse varies from system to system. I would just try it if I was you.

I also tried it and did not find it very useful. If you're running Windows 7 or later, I would not bother.

no nasty side-effects here. i notice that when i forget to turn it on games do run slightly slower (may just be placebo effect). also take a look at blackvipers windows services tweaks.

It's better to do things manually than to rely on something like this. Personally, I wouldn't trust a third-party program with managing services in this manner. I just kill the processes I don't want running. There's too much chance that it could screw things up to bother with things like this.

I am actually using it and to be honest I've not noticed any ill effects.

I wonder how much difference it *actually* makes - (objectively) - but that said, I'm happy enough to keep it going...

Personally, I notice little difference in performance whether I disable background programs or not. Then again, I don't have things like AV software and stuff running so I don't really have anything intensive running anyways.
