Getting a ton of random quests every 5 seconds...

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 8:43 pm

Hi, I just bought the Oblivion Game Of The Year Deluxe Edition for PC, after having it for Xbox for the longest time, and I have encountered a strange glitch...

In the beginning, after *SPOILERS* the emporer is killed and baurus tells me what to do and gives me a key, I start gaining quests every 5 seconds or so. One that I can remember is that I inherited some property somewhere, and I get the option to add it to my map or just close, as if I just accepted a quest. The quests seem to be random, and after making a new character the exact same thing happened!

(I have no mods installed)

This effectively renders the game unplayable, giving me notes and keys every 10 seconds and interrupting anything I am doing. I tried re-installing and that did not work! \

What can I do to fix this?

Those are your DLC quests. They occur right after the sewers without mods. That's normal.

It ends after around 8 - 10 quests or so are given.

If you really find it obnoxious, though, here's a mod to take care of it: http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11474

*Facepalm* I am actually stupid... Sorry for wasting your time, I never got past 5 or 6 quests before finding it annoying and turning off my game. Thank you, and sorry for wasting your time :S

EDIT: Hoping to install the mod, but don't know how and can't find a tut...

In that case, I'll direct you next door: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/449239-oblivion-mods-faq/

Bit dated, but you'll get the idea. Also, Bash is the recommended way.
