@CarlosS4444:

Don't use the MOBS esp, the whole thing has been integrated now. You can optionally use the no running backwards tweak however, that was not added, but will be an option in the next release.
What about the FCOM Archery Beta? Is it okay to use it alongside Fran's with MOBS?

SomeWelshGuy:

If you are making fixes for another release I found missing menu icons for the Noble Armor and Gauntlets. The file name has an extra period in file name.

textures\menus\frans\francesco\armor\noble plate\noblecuirassm..dds is what is in the esm. The bsa file name is noblecuirassm.dds

There are 4 entries for the noble cuirass and 4 entries for the gauntlests that need fixed.

Long time no see

Version 5 - Beta 2 Uploaded to the Nexus. Alternative download coming shortly.

I actually did these changes a while back, I thought I'd lost the files but I found them tucked away. Therefore any recent bugs will be fixed in B3

This update fixes issues with bugged INI settings, adds new, configurable INI settings and updates the documentation. V5B1 is required, this is simply an update file.

If you have made any changes to the INI, keep a backup of the old file so you can easily transfer them across to the updated INI.

OK, I have Frans v5b2 installed visa BAIN! Thanks for motivating me to learn BAIN - it looks like an excellent tool.

Now, I notice BOSS is telling me in the entry for UOP 3.4.1: "Note: Use Standalone MOBS if using Frans." However, if I'm reading it right the MOBS readme still says to use Frans' MOBS with Frans, because it (and I guess only it) includes MOBS stats for Frans Optional Items. Any wisdom on this point?

I installed Frans with MOBS but not the Combat Tweaks, because I plan to use Duke Patrick's Combat Archery and along with archery stat tweaks it modifies backward running speed and I think something else that's also in Frans/MOBS optionals. Good plan? Anything to watch out for?

BTW I also tried Duke Patrick's Melee Combat and it is very cool, but really hard! Especially for a weakling thief. I decided to go with MOBS + MMM's Damage & Durability for now, and maybe try DP's Melee Combat in a future build for more of a pure fighter character.

edit: found a MOBS thread where CorePC says one should use BOTH Frans' MOBS for the Frans weapons, and (I think) Standalone MOBS to get v2.0a stats for vanilla weapons. But doesn't Frans v5 use MOBS 2.0 for everything?

Brain.....overheating........with Frans v5 MOBS installed, should I still load standalone MOBS 2.0a? And does the answer to that question change if I'm going to try adding additional weapon mods and merge via Bash?

Addendum to the above: What about OMOBS? It's designed for use with FCOM...

Another (unrelated) question: Can we stick the ini file into the Data/Ini folder, or does it have to be in the Data folder?

I'm running an FCOM game and had already installed Frans using the bailing wire/duct tape method. Not having any problems with my game, but decided never-the-less to try a reinstall of this new BAIN version.

WOW & WOW again. What a simple, pain-free-pleasure it was.

Thanx mucho, SWG.

Just want to reiterate this point. Thanks for your work on this. The Bain wizard is very easy to use and informative!

Thanks very much for your work on this - it has made installing Frans as part of FCOM much easier.

Just a suggestion: your wizard already asks about whether Frans is being installed as part of a FCOM install. If the user replies yes, have you considered renaming the BSA file to something like FCOM_Convergence - Francesco's Items.bsa rather than using a dummy ESP to load the BSA, similar to what is recommended with renaming the BSA for MMM?

That's what I've done with my install, to save a slot.

I had the calipers bug where calipers were showing up on actors and in containers. When I made a topic about it, kuertee showed me a fix made by Phitt:

Francesco Caliper fix
=====================

I use Fran's. To anyone suffering from the caliper bug I can only recommend this mod I made:
http://www.mediafire.com/?y2ozkmyxmzl
Been playing with it for ~20 hours now with no caliper problems. Only small problem is that you need
to use the default loot settings and can't use the in game customization menu.
The esp I uploaded is on hardcoe, currently I use extra hardcoe so if anyone wants that I can upload it as well.

The reason I am posting this is because startquest franmenu has been disabled for Frans 5.0b2. When the command is entered a popup says to use the .ini, which has no option to reset loot lists. The only other option is to disable all frans files, load game, rest 3 days, save, exit, enable all frans files, load game, rest 3 days.

Anyway, if anybody is finding naked Fran enemies with a collection of calipers in their inventory, you can fix the problem by opening the console and typing the following:
StopQuest FranLootSet FranLoot.ReSet to 1Set FranLoot.Set to 0Set FranLoot.DoOnce to 0StartQuest FranLoot

I'm still hoping for the calipers to disappear once and forever. But in the meantime, there seems to be only a couple ways to take care of them. As freestone noted, Phitt's fix has disappeared from the internets. The console commands seem to be the best way, certainly better than disabling and waiting, but kind of a pain to use. So in the meantime I made a simple spell that resets the scripts. It's so far worked for me. Hope it helps others.

Silly question but how do i install both v5b1 and v5b2?

I ran the wizard on v5b1 successfull and then ran the wizard on v5b2 but i got an error.

An error occurred in the wizard script:
Line: %s
SelectSubPackage "08 Optional Extras SI" Error: (Line 520, Column 42): Sub-package '08 Optional Extras SI' is not a part of the installer.

Do i need to put both into the same folder as i prefer to just add the archives to the bash installers.

hello and thanx for the update to this brilliant mod :)

I have a question about the Frans Dark Seducer Weapon patch and the Frans optional leveled quests - SI only patches for 4.5b

should them still be used in a FCOM setup with frans v5, or are they outdated?

also, there's a FCOM_Francescoitemsaddon.esp in the FCOM package that is actually a bugfix for frans 4.5b . I guess that bug has been fixed in v5 of frans itself?
