I also changed the ini as such:

bUseThreadedAI=1
iNumHWThreads=4

I tried 1-4 threads. Aswell as Fallout.ini Extended.

I have an i7 3.20ghz 64, with windows 7 64bit, 6gb of ram. Asus Sonar DG Audio and an AMD Radeon HD 6700 Seires GPU. [has about 1+ gb vram]

I am in the super duper mart doing the first quest for moira. When ever I get into a fight, after a few seconds the game crashes to desktop, repeating a sound annoyingly and I have to reboot, happens every single time without fail when I fight. I have tried adding/removing some mods to no avail. Any ideas?

It seems that when I fight the raiders, they will fire their first few shots, then pause for a second, then right as soon as they start their second volly of shots, it crashes immetiatly, it happens at this point about 95% of the time, with any raider I fight inside the store.

You do realize [just as in the other forum] the whole quad-core fix thing doesn't fix my problem right? Did you actually read my post?

Are you using http://fose.silverlock.org/? It's required for FWE, CRAFT and DarnUI.

Are you using http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=944?

Oh, well you didn't state otherwise.

Is it every battle you get into or just in the Super Mart against those particular raiders?

I been having a similar problem with my copy for well over a year now. It's not consistent but does happen every now and then during a firefight, I've never been able to figure it out.

If you have properly installed the game outside the program files, properly installed the mods and restricted your cpu to two cores, you should have no problem running the game. The system you have should run a very stable game if everything was done correctly. I suggest you go back to the beginning and start over with the installation. Also, the .ini file you edited was the one in the "hard drive"\Users\"name"\Documents\My Games\Fallout3 file and not the one in the Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3 file, correct?

Well, the only thing you listed M48A5 that I didn't do is install outside of x86, but I have since removed the mods and just played them without anyways. Its my first time really playing FO3 anyways, so I will be good for ahwile. PErhaps later Ii'll try again.

Right now I am playing FO3 with Fose and DarnUI, everything works fine, have been playing for hours.

My computer used to do that all the time but it wasnt cause of Fallout 3 it was because it was trying to access apart of the HDD that was damaged so it keep locking up my comp finally got a new one and never had the problem since So if you have another HDD try installing it there and seeing if the problem persists :smile:.

So, I turned on compatibility mode for Fallout 3 and FOSE [xp sp3]... now, the consistent crashing is gone, but the game DOES crash randomly every 20-30 minutes, for no apparent reason, and none of those crashes have been reproducible..is that normal? Or can I actually play fo3 + fwe with 0 crashes? Its not TOO annoying, since I save a lot, but still...

After applying Archive Invalidation in FOMM, did you try BOSS to set the load-order right?
Also, try to use the FO3edit to make a Merged Patch and then run FO3MasterUpdate.

Try turning your graphics settings down to the minimum and see if the symptoms change (except maybe turn up the distance at which you can see mobs).
