First attempt at getting FO3 working.

Ugh. I've been through what I believe to be some known fixes in various patterns with absolutely no luck.
Purchased from Steam.
-Originally the issue came up right around the birth scene with the doctor. It would freeze and sound would continue.
-I've re-installed outside of program files (moved it to a separate Games folder in C:)
-I've tried changing the ini file. This resulted in a different freeze, where as soon as I hit new game it comes up with a screen that looks like what the game gauges would be. (hp, ap gauges, center cursor) I can hit escape and make it back into the main screen, but nothing happens in the game.
-I've tried the unofficial ini patch. This only crashed the game shortly after startup.
-I've been running as admin.
-I've trying different service packs.

Any help?

Fallout 3 will not run on a notebook. It requires a PC. Some people have been lucky in being able to get it to run on a laptop, but only on very high end ones.

I guess I don't see what that has anything to do with it. I've played tons of games like fallout 3 and age of empires on this machine with 0 difficultly. even elder scrolls.

Very low end part, worse even than the latest onboard video chips. It is unable to meet any minimums for the high intensity games of the past three years or so.

didnt the minimum state 256mb Dedicated !?!?

You could try shutting down all other processes.

Just so you know , I run 512 older xp system ... and Im limited to low settings with a few tweaks. However I could run medium with some medium glitch. Just not my kind of fun though. However ... XP systems are very stable for this game.
