at wits end - Fallout 3 nor Fallout 3 GOTY edition working f

Ok, First off let me give you a little back ground, because i wanted to try every fix, everything that people have said, and even try a few possible fixes before i posted here.

(This if for the PC version of the game.)

Firstly, I have Fallout 3 the original version, plus the DLC on the two pack dvds, broken steel & point lokkout, and The pitt and Operation Anchorage. I got Mothership Zeta off of live and burned it to a disc. (which i thought was cool that Live allowed me to do that, btw.)

I also have the GOTY edition with all DLC.

Secondly, I have installed it trying several different directories, C:/Games/Fallout, D:/Games/ Fallout, D:/Program Files (x86)\Bethesda, etc.

Thirdly, I have tried the extended ini, and the "bUseThreadedAI=1" "iNumHWThreads=2" trick.

Now, i try to just start base fallout 3, no mods and no dlc and no patches.

It runs, and I can successfully load., got passed the opening cinimatic and stat selection, IE (baby stage, adolescent stage.)

From Patch 1.0.015 - 1.4.0.5, the game loads like before.

Starting at 1.5, is when i start getting CTDs when the launcher tries to launch the game, so i don't even get to the menu now.

so starting int he 1.5 patch, something is causing the CTD and the Windows 7 Problem. Now I am not a programmer, but I think someone should look at what is being changed in the 1.5 patch, and see where the problem could lie.

Maybe someone from Bethesda could read this post and maybe know whats going on.

Any Input would be great.

-?

Since you have the game of the year, it is completely patched. Uninstall what you have and reinstall the game. When you come to the screen that asks for default or custom install, choose custom install.
Then type in where you want the game installed. IE: C\Users\"Name"\Documents\My Games or C\. The installer will than create the necessary folders and install the game. When I reinstalled my game, I gave it the path of C:\. The game than installed with the path: C:\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Fallout3.exe. As you can see, the installer did everything after I told it where to install the game.
