Ghost Dog Gauntlets?

Post » Sun Nov 15, 2009 7:45 pm

I stumbled across a pair of fur gauntlets with a script atatched to them called Ghost Dog Gauntlets. They were in the SI items Armor and apparel crate in the testinghall. UESP says they don't appear in the game....do they work though? My Nord Would love these if they did.

Have you tested them? Sound fun but probably don’t work or are bugged as they are not included. However they might be fun even if they are bugged.

IIRC they were for an earlier version of what became the "Ushnar's Terror" quest which gets you the skinned hound follower. There may be conflicts if you do that quest.

I played with them a little. They are fun, but if the Dog dies, and you cant find it and ressurect it, they become useless. It also appears that the guards attack the ghost dog on sight, but if you take them off before you go into a guarded area, there is no problem, as the Dog (if alive) will reappear when you put the gauntlets back on. It doesn't seem to work to well indoors.

I've wondered if setting the ghost dog to essential will fix the problem, but it may make the ghost dog a bit to OP.

I'd leave them alone if I were you. I played around with them a bit, but after a while I thre them away. And sometimes when I quickloaded the dog would suddenly be walking beside me, which freaked me out a little.

I wouldnt quicksave or autosave if I were you. I've heard it causes problems down the road. (Save corruptions etc.) I can't confirm this however. I don't recall where I heard it.

They are fun to play with though. My Nord Huntress loves it. I want to remove the ghost shader from the dog though, and make it so it won't die. I might add some crazy regen ability to it instead of make it essential. I usually keep it 'Heeled' for cosmetic purpose than use it in combat anyways.
