Alternate Fallout Timeline

Vault Dweller Fails: Enclave V. Master’s Nation.

You are awakened from a deep sleep. The buzzing rhetoric of the intercom that awoke you echoes through the hollow oil rig. As you rise you start to understand the muffled noise that awoke you from your slumber. You recognize the distinct sound of the automated message service.

Automated message: All citizens report to the assembly hall. Repeat. All citizens to the Assembly hall.

You sit up on your cot, fumbling around for your wristwatch, and in its dim glow you make out that it is only 4:30 am. You wonder for a second what reason an assembly could be called this early, but soon you are stumbling to your feet and are meandering toward the assembly hall. You and a few others make It just as President Richardson walks toward the podium.

President Richardson walks up to the podium and begins to speak, “My fellow citizens of the great United States of America, I have called this assembly because now is the time. Now is the time that we take back our homeland from the mutant abominations that are now desecrating its soil. These mutants and their ‘master’ believe that they are the superior species. Maybe they are; compared to the filthy remnants leftover after our first cleansing of the world. We have waited generations to reap the bounty we have sown from that great cleansing. We will wait no longer. No longer will we allow this ‘Master’ to have free-range of our land. No longer will the Mutant abominations be tolerated. No longer will we be confined to this Enclave. We will once again purge clean the filth of the world. Today Marks the first day of our country’s re-establishment as the most powerful force on the face of the planet. Today we take back the world for pure blooded Americans. For the first time in almost a century the United States of America will be a nation that exists on hardened soil. We have kept the spirit of the USA alive since the day we were born. Today is the day we give that spirit a body! We are the United States of America and we will never be defeated!”

Soon after the speech finishes you are corralled to a large exit along with everyone else. After walking through a long dark corridor you exit into a large open range. One man stands in the middle, awaiting the crowd. He speaks, “Today is the first day of the rest of your lives. Today is the day you become Soldiers of the United States army. Boot camp starts now.”

So yeah, this is just the beginning of an idea i had where the entirety of the Fallout timeline changes based on the "failure" ending of the Original Fallout. Basically the Vault dweller failed and instead of Fallout 2 being the story of the chosen one defeating the Enclave, you are an Enclave citizen growing up in a world where the Master's Army gained control of the core region and mutated the majority of the wasteland.

If you like it go ahead and turn it into whatever you like. I really haven't thought very far past the setting. I just thought it was a pretty interesting idea.

Interesting idea...it could be an interesting RP or Fan Fiction...but you would have to figure out what has happened to the towns that existed at the start of Fallout 1. If the Vault Dweller just outright failed to stop The Master there would be a lot of destruction.

Did you intend the BOS to exist and still be fighting the Supermutants or were they intended to have been destroyed? If they're fighting, the BOS would have to be pretty damn low on recruits unless they've become similar to the MidWest BOS and started recruiting wastelanders.

I think it could be fun...but you'd have to either do it as a "Welcome to Grayditch" wherein (forgive me if I have misinterpreted the RP) the world is created by all the participants as the RP develops

OR

Decide on a great many things before the RP starts.

What happened to The Hub, Necropolis, Followers, Boneyard, Adytum, Junktown, Gizmo, BOS, Ian, Tycho, Shady Sands (and especially Tandi). Then you'd need to either create new towns or be ready for a damn long RP.
