Please help me out. I just purchased Fallout NV (Ultimate Ed : Fallout: New Vegas

Hi. I just bought the Ultimate Edition for Fallout New Vegas but I'm having this annoying issue where I cannot get past the intro screen when I launch the game......I tried reinstalling the game, updading my video drivers, trying to use a lower resolution but the game just keeps crashing right after I get on the main screen and click on "New Game"

What the hell could the issue issue be? Someone please help me out here. This is really frustrating. I am running Windows 7 btw.

oh, and I've tried the whole d3d9.dll and deleting the falout_default.iso files from the loading screen and switching the launch button to Windows XP service pack 3.....nothing is working. Damnit, someone give me some advice here. WTF are the developers thinking? Charging $40 for a [censored] game that won't even work properly....FFS!!! It's been QUIET A WHILE since this game came out and they don't manage to fix the obvious issue people are having.....I can't even return this pile of crap since it's on the PC and bound to [censored]ing Steam....omg

If you have asus gamer osd installed, uninstall it.
You also have 4GB loaded so I would also recommend a clean boot if the above doesnt apply.

Disable all the nonMS services then see if the issue returns.

There are soooo many programs that people can download and place on their computer. Problem is some of those programs can conflict with other programs.
For instance, asus gamer osd is a known culprit for new game or load game crashes which is why i suggested you remove it IF you have it installed.
Other programs could also be causing issues. A clean boot can help resolve these issues by finding the third party program that is conflicting although
just because it still crashes doesnt mean it isnt a third party program.

BTW are you using any mods with the game?

Japer, should we really be having issues likes this crap with a game we paid over $50 (some over $60) so, the question I ask to the developers of this [censored]ed up/c\glitchy game is..............WTF are you doing about it? It seems nothing? Do I have to hire a lawyer or something until they fix it?..........

I'm trying to help you troubleshoot the problem. Keyword troubleshoot. If you arent willing to try then enjoy your crashes.

I would re-install any drivers for your sound card and then re-install drivers for your video card.

Hi guy I am a new member . I had a problem like you but I fix it success.
Step 1 : I was re-install a driver VGA
Step 2 : download file d3d9.dll
Step 3 : put file d3d9.dll to fallout new vegas and rungame (Ex : C:/programs file/steam/steamApp/common/fallout new vegas)
I use this method and it work.
You should try.
