Trouble with: You'll Know It When It HappensEureka!

Hi.
When playing the game on xbox 360 during the quest "You'll Know It When It Happens" on "Yes man's" side.
After saving the president from assassination the quest "Eureka!" isent given an making the "NCR" quest line impossible to complete.

Going to "Colonel Cassandra Moore" without the quest she just says: "whatever it is make it quick"
And there is just one speech option were you reply along the line "Nothing just siteseeing"
And there is no other way possible to acctivate the quest "Eureka!"
Then been given it after savning the president.

Any ideas how to resolve the problem without restarting from the begining of the game?

Did you wait outside after saving the president until it said you completed the quest? This takes about a good minute or two after saving the president. Then Moore will ask the status of the president. The conversation in this automatically continues and will mention so and so wants to see you, and then you are given the option to continue on or return later. Selecting to continue will trigger Eureka, and is a one way trip to the end of the game.

You could also check your completed quest log to see if Eureka is in there as a failed quest due to some other actions you took earlier in the game.

don't know what to tell ya, the order of events for me was pretty quick though.
Then again, I did this from the NCR path to begin with.

-Save president
-Wait outside until mission is shown as completed
-Enter hoover dam and talk to moore
-Select to accept eureka! or return later.

Only things that come to mind are maybe a lack of NCR fame or not waiting outside until the quest completed. I believe my NCR fame was IDOLIZED.
Seeing as how Eureka is the endgame NCR side, if you didn't do things like For The Republic (Part 2), and whatnot, I believe you have to do those first.
There are various side quests that tie in with the NCR direction, some of which you can get doing other quests, but does not link into the NCR plot until you reach it directly doing NCR quests.
I had a hell of a time getting to Eureka!...

I have tryed to bring my fame/reputation up but i have done all the NCR missons before "You'll Know It When It Happens".
So i tryed to just go out and kill lots of Caesar's Legion troops but i dident get any NRC fame.

similar issue here - I report back to Moore that president is saved, she given a little speech about general Oliver, I see a box saying my NCR status is now wild child - I click oK then nothing character will not move, no HUD, all I can do is look around.

I tried leaving companions outside, ,tried hacking NCR status before the conversation, so that I don't get the wild child prompt, still no joy.

maybe there's a hidden value preventing the NCR quest continuation but if so it is not documented ?

it is as if Eureka is not initialising. I read in other guides that what "should" happen is that character auto-teleports to Generals location ???
read everything that i can find on fixing / hacking broken scripts - no joy.

If I enter console & force a more to say goodsprings, then may character is stuck there in stead - no HUD , no movement controls....

Hacking, Console, Changing scripts
Your on a PC hopefully and the reason you maybe getting that problem is a conflicting mod you have installed - not to mention schanging scripts- you could use the Command Console and use the Eureka Ref ID to start it yourself.
But if you're on Xbox and you're doing this and broke it - haha because thats some sort of illegal activity ;)

I tried various console fixes ; enableplayercontrols partially worked but I still did not get the eureka quest so could not continue. I could walk to gen oliver' s compound but could not enter it & everytime I spoke again to Moore ( who would say don't keep the general waiting - then my character froze again.

finally, in desperation I tracked down some manual patches & installed the last-but-one patch, then stayed off-line while I replayed from just before talking to Moore at end of you'll know it.. quest.
, that worked - up popped the message saying that I was entering endgame & I was transported to start of Eureka quest.
I then saved my game, exited, restored the latest game update & played thru to end OK.

so I wonder if this bug was introduced by the latest update - which I read was intended to add a save option before committing player to end-game?

So you are on PC and you are in the wrong place with this thread.

OT though - Since you have it sorted you're all good, and as far as my xbox is concerned the last patch that added that was fine.
