Alright, so I'm doing a dead is dead playthrough as an NCR Veteran Ranger. Same stats, tagged skills, weapon,s etc. As a result one of my top priorities is to become liked by the NCR, so that I can get the key to the NCR Ranger Safehouse giving me access to the black armor and a host of Veteran Ranger weapons, all earlier than I would otherwise be able to receive them. However, my reputation with the NCR keeps on resetting. First, I did I Put a Spell on You. I went into the quest being accepted with the NCR. I was accepted up until the point I killed Curtis. I made sure I killed Curtis after I defused the bomb on the monorail, and that he became hostile first. When went to Hsu and completed the mission, I got notified that I was now "accepted" by the NCR. What....? I thought I already was... So then I reload the autosave from the door into the terminal, and check my reputation... It disappeared.... I thought it was just from killing Curtis, since usually I just let him commit suicide, so I went along my business. I killed all the fiends in 3 Card Bounty. I completed The Silus Treatment. I got through the first part of Return To Sender, got the small fame boost, did the other Forlorn Hope missions. At this point, I was still accepted, so I figured I just had a little more to go, so I decide to nab some Legion Ears by wiping out Cottonwood Cove with sniper fire. I kill everyone, take their guns, ears and ammo, and go to fast travel back to Forlorn Hope to turn in the 23 ears I have. And then... It says "neutral" under the location name!!!!! What? What is happening? What am I doing wrong.... This svcks. I just want to get liked and get my Veteran Ranger gear. So what am I doing wrong?

Oh, and also, my Legion rep is neutral now too, it used to be Vilified.... But I still have my Novac rep. So it's not wiping all my reputations.

For real though guys, what am I doing wrong here. Usually I never really care as much and just do quests that I want to do. Eventually get liked and get the safehouse. Does this happen a lot and I never noticed it before, or am I committing some action that is messing it up?

Were you wearing faction armour when you completed these quests? That's the only thing I can think of that would appear to reset your faction reputations.

Oh wow. I feel dumb now. Yup, that would be it. I'm liked too. Wonder how long I was liked by the NCR and didn't know it.... Thanks Tranquillus!
