scariest dlc?

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 11:17 pm

just wanted to know what dlc do you reckon is the scariest i have only done HH and just started DM but i believe out all of them no matter what DM would be the scariest :S just being sorrounded by red clouds and the somewhat un-killable ghosts while wearing a collar of doom and not knowing that death could be around the corner scared me (but then again doing "come fly with me" scared the unpleasant smell out of my pants)

Lonesome Road just because of the part where the first deathclaw that you fight spawns, it made some freaky kind of noise then turned out to be stronger than expected.

None of them were 'scary'. Some were tougher, some more annoying, some more interesting, but nothing in any part of the FO:NV universe is anywhere near what I'd consider scary. Dead Money took the prize for most difficult (at times) and most annoying, but that's as close as I can get to answering the question.

I have to say Dead Money, sometimes I found myself sneaking for no reason...

If you are afraid of mutated creatures then LR would be the scariest.

Overall the scariest is DM. Stupid holograms scared me [censored] less! I read the little hints and wikis on how to kill them. But I never knew what the projector looked like so I never got to kill one. It wasn't until I was inside the Sierra Madre itself that I learned what the projectors looked liked. Something about a hologram putting his hands on his head and your health dropping incredibly fast had me scared.

Also random Ghost people and that one grenade trap.

Dead Money.

The first time I played Old World Blues I was pretty damn terrified, though.

I recommend Point Lookout for Fallout 3, and bring no equipment and no money.

I had all kinds of equipment and money and I was still scared!

Dead Money, that DLC can get pretty frightening. I was constantly on my toes in the Villa.
LR wasn't scary, just surprising /cough/ spawn-triggered Deathclaws /cough/.
OWB could get scary at times, like at night.

Lonesome Road. Dead Money was just too frustrating to be scary. Lonesome Road's underground levels matched the frustration and fear perfectly. Especially when I wandered into a random place and found Rawr.

The Sierra Madre vault was the scariest experience I've ever had in Fallout.

The first time I did it, I was on Very Hard hardcoe with not enough DT to be able to survive very many of the Hologram's shots.

Not to mention I got lost trying to get out once you encounter the time trial to get the [censored] out of the vault.

Lonesome Road just because of the part where the first deathclaw that you fight spawns, it made some freaky kind of noise then turned out to be stronger than expected.

I found out on my last playthrough that you can avoid that encounter all together! Just go around the camper/trailer instead of going inside it, and the deathclaw ambush will not occur. The whole event is dependent on the player's curiosity.

Anyways, I found all the DLCs to be scary in some ways, so I don't know if I can say which was the scariest. Here are the "scary" parts of each:

Dead Money: Fighting Ghost people in the Villa for the first time was rather scary.

Honest Hearts: If you have a low perception stat, Yao Guai and Giant Cazadors tend to pop out of nowhere, and in the middle of the night during a rain storm, this can be a bit scary.

Old World Blues: Fighting a dozen Nightstalkers at night in that hexagon area was scary as [censored]. They kept running away then appearing out of nowhere from behind the pillars. The Cazador facility, the Nightstalker facility with the invisible Nightstalkers, and the crazed Securitron facility were all pretty scary as well.

Lonesome Road: The encounter Wombat mentioned nearly gave me a heart attack the first time I played Lonesome Road, and the Cave of Abaddon was pretty scary as well. Also, the invisible marked men could make for some frightening surprise attacks, and the way that the Marked Men would fire flares into the air added to the "scariness" of the atmosphere. And then there was Rawr...

Yeah. I panicked when I had to get out and was lost and trying to grab as much gold as possible.

im torn, DM was a psycological horror about being in a mist that slowly kills you while you are also being hunted by men that are fused to their bio-suits who hardly made a sound (not to mention that your allies could betray you at any time over the treasure and if you mess up you die in the worst, imo, way possible at the end), while LR gave me the feeling of being in constant danger of being killed (after that first death claw ambush i never droped my flaregun unless i had to shoot something else)

Dead Money, it pissed me off and left me cursing a lot yet I had that sense of indelible fear.

Fighting those damned almost invincible ghost people that walk all funny, the holograms that forced me to sneak instead of killing, and the red poison mist clearly had me thinking of survival. Soon it was about survival and not about getting all the gold bars.

Not to mention that slave collar on your neck.

As annoying as it was, I will always remember the importance of surviving in situations like these.

Dead Money.

However, for sheer scare factor in one particular moment. The first Deathclaw Spawn in LR takes the cake.
