GECK for beginners

hey all,

I recently started tinkering in the GECK, and I decided to make a companion. I know, I should start small, with a cell or a shrub or something, but I figure this way I will have to learn enough different things that, when its finally done eons down the road, I will have gotten much further in terms of learning the GECK. A few specific things that I am stuck at right now are a)placing the companion in a cell and setting it up for the first encounter and b)random dialogue in response to certain dialogue from NPCs, or in response to player actions, or just randomly spouting off in various locales.

So, any links to tutorials for creating companions, animations, complex dialogue, items, etc. I know the GECK wiki has skeleton information and I am using Tutz guide

Also, anything about how to get custom sound files to work would be appreciated. Importing 16b PCM 44100 wavs doesn't seem to actually work nor do Ogg files. Not sure what I am missing. I know how to make a new sound file in the object window but it wont actually play.
