Back in the times before time, there were three gods. Orrel, Mahg, and Lorrk. Their children were the lesser gods, and the lesser god's children were mortals and demons. Lorrk grew jealous of his brothers, for Orrel and Mahg's children were beautiful, while his were loathsome. As such he plotted to kill them. One day he told all the other gods that they should make a world for their children. They thought it was a good idea and agreed. They built and built and built until they were exhausted by the effort. Lorrk and his armies attacked while his brothers were weak. Mahg was too weak to fight Lorrk, and tore holes for him and his children to hide in. These holes became the sun and stars, and one can see the great radiance of Mahg and his children through them whenever we look at the sky. Orrel was brave and strong, and kept fighting. Lorrk's armies were weak, but numerous, for they copulated instead of working when the world was being made. Orrel's armies were strong but few, for most of them were too weakened to fight, sleeping in the middle of the world while holding it up.

Orrel turned into a beast, both serpent and bird, and swooped down upon Lorrk. Lorrk was torn in half and his entrails torn out, buried deep underground. Orrel and his children ascended to become gods, while Lorrk's children fled to the Darkness and became demons. Orrel's grandchildren became the Mer. Lorrk's grandchildren became the Humans. But what of us Imga? Who were our ancestors? Well, even Lorrk's armies saw the glory of Orrel. A few left to join the rightful gods. Lorrk grew furious at this betrayal, and cursed them to become beasts. These beast-men are our ancestors, and know that we must forever strive to become like Mer. If we become enough like them, Orrel will bless us and turn us into Mer. But if we act like man, and forget the gods while worshipping the demons, Orrel will never make us Mer. So do not do evil deeds, for you delay our reward with every sin you commit.
