Another beast race

So we have a beast race for stealth and melee but we do not have a beast race for magic. What do you think would make a good beast race for a magic oriented race. I have thought of fox, raven, raccoon, and snake. What do you guys think?

Umm. Argonians are known to be naturally intelligent and calm creatures with enviable skills in magic, especially the illusion school. Their primary focus is not physical combat. In Skyrim they don't even have any starting skill in any form of combat.

Besides that, how could some mystical new race suddenly fit into lore? I don't see why there should be a "beast" counterpart to every human race anyway. Seems pointless to make 2 statistically identical sets of playable races, only separated by appearance. I like how none of the races are alike. Makes it seem like each race is good at something, but weak at another.

theres many different breeds of both khajiit and argonians, im not sure entirely but im positive some of those breeds are more affiliated with magic than the common ones we see now

it wouldnt be too strange if some of them found their way into whichever game will feature elsweyr/black marsh

although to actually make them playable will pose some difficulties because if they add them, people will expect them in future games where they might not fit in that well anymore

Yeah, it would be so cool if they could do sub-races in the beast provinces. I'd even settle for non-playable, but make them weird, authentic, animal like with proper unique animations and sounds. Another thing I'd love in Black MArsh would be some tribes more violent and uncivilized than others... some that will speak a language you don't understand... and you need to have language skill to be able to undertand progressively from nothing to a fair amount of what they say.

somehow i expect if they add violent ones theyre either gonna be mutes like the giants in skyrim or just use normal voices

i dont see them adding language skills just yet because instead of adding they have been removing skills for the past 3 games

Well what about a new beast race that fits into its own role. Im thinking archer mage but not sure I haven't studied every race in depth.

Go look through some of the unplayable races here and decide for yourself which one is magical enough:
