Are These The Normal UI Squiggles?

I just did the Sixth House Base quest, in the MQ (where you clear out Ilunibi and fight Dagoth Gares). Are http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/subrosa_florens/Computer%20Games/Morrowind017.jpg you get in the interface after he infects you with Corprus? The ones circled down at the lower right? I ask so I don't try to waste any more time trying more cure diseases, etc... to get rid of them. Gares also gave me a ton of damaged attributes, but I was able to restore them with spells.

BTW, are there any mods out there that make it clearer what those squiggles mean, like with a text pop-up when you mouse over them? I know they are magic effects, but they are so small I cannot tell what half of them are. I can make out the night eye, and shield, but that is about it. I have no idea what those two red ones mean, except that it is obviously not good. I checked the manual, and it says that there should be a pop-up explaining what each icon means when I mouse over them. That is in the pic above, and in the magic menu that lists all of your powers and spells. But that does not happen. Could this be because of MGE? I have MGE version 3.8.

those squiggles are normal  just a visual representation of current buffs/debuffs. no need for mods to get the info either. right click to menu, at the top of your spell list you'll see those same squiggles. hover over them and roberts your mothers brother.

hope that helps

edit: no idea why the tooltip wouldn't popup in menu mode. i use mge 3.8 too and have no troubles. small thing that might help: right click to menu. move all menu boxes to middle of the screen, click your now visible health/mana/fatigue bars, your equipped weapon icon, then your equipped spell icon, then on the right click the minimap. that wil clear the menu boxes from your screen. to bring them back click the bars, weapon, spell, minimap thingies again. if that doesn't help try exiting the game and starting back up.

editedit: and for where you are in the in the MQ, no regular healing potions or magic will cure you :) go see caius, he'll know what to do

The tooltip will not pop up no matter what I try. I checked the magic effects in the construction set, and found that the one on the left is for Corprus, so that is to be expected at this point in the main quest. The one on the right is Drain Attribute. I do not understand why I would have that there after restoring all my attributes though?

probably a result of the corpus. i know with regular disease/blight you can restore your atributes to normal values but still have the drain effect in place til you cure the actual disease/blight. been a loooong time since i did the MQ, but i'm pretty certain the same rules would apply

I remember having problems with tooltips not popping up. Not just effects, but containers, NPCs, items (ground, container and inventory) et cetera. A reload usually fixed it.

Sadly, it has always been like this (the lack of tooltips that is, not the corprus! ;)). So restarting or reloading has no effect. To be honest, I never knew there was a tooltip that was supposed to pop up until I looked it up in the manual yesterday.

Corprus buffs your Strength, and debuffs your Personality and something else. (I forgot)
So, one is corprus, the other is the Damage Stat.
