I recently got myself into Morrowind not too long ago and I understandably see why many people favour this game more than the later chapters. It's been a great experience thus far

The matter at hand here is whenever I try to attack, I always have to hold the left click and make a gesture. Now from what I've heard, this is a power up move but the problem here is that it completely locks my cursor and I can't move my crosshair until I let go. Another matter is that from the very beginning of the game you pick up a worn out dagger to play with, and I can't do simple jabbing attacks with taps of the left click. I always have to hold it down and gesture to do some sort of attack. I've seen videos of people playing Morrowind and they seem to be able to move around freely while attacking.

I hope I'm not coming off as completely stupid, but this problem is really bugging me and I've been having a rough time doing combat with enemies and such. If anyone can put some light on this problem please do. I really, REALLY want to enjoy this game more.
