So much for a lack of Dragons.

I'm with you. Keep the dragons few and far between. I don't want to ride a dragon or talk with a dragon or slay a dragon. I haven't even played a dragon game since the Panzer Dragoon Orta demo from Xbox Magazine so I'm probably in the minority.

Even so, since dragons are in the game, I'd rather them be interesting, not some repetitive task like the oblivion gates.

Aren't dragons invisible? It would be funny if you did not actually see a dragon.

Well if my lore remembering is right, the kitties never invaded only the snake people did(Tsceaci and Ka Po Tun). So if in the trailer they say that their defeat was only a dely then the kitty dragon people are not the ones. Neither are the dragons since they never attacked and are sacred. Dragons in the video could just be a symbol. I believe they will keep the dragons to a very minimum. I doubt everytime you turn around dragons are going to be sitting there.

True, and the war between the kitties and snakes previously destroyed the dragon population in Akavir to 0. The Akaviri dragons remained extinct, then the kitty leader turned into 1. As far as I am aware, Tamriel boasts more dragons than Akavir, but the ones in Tamriel are in hiding.

Well they can talk and if we see one we can probably talk to one, maybe do a quest for it?

According to King Edward, Part XI:
"The two dragons politely pvssyd with the humanoids as they enjoyed their repast"

" Little is known about them beyond their remarkable intelligence and ability to communicate"

@ hellmouth- Yeah so there shouldn't be an invasion from any dragons, Akaviri or otherwise. Thank god.

As far as I am aware, dragons are practically demi-gods (makes sense, as they're likely related to the dragon of time, Akatosh). I'd like to see them as being of extremely high intelligence, with goals that would be a little beyond the understanding of mortals. By this, I'm probably meaning what they're doing is seeing a move step steps ahead, and preparing for it, almost like how the Eldar are willing to sacrifice a whole planet of humans, as long as it means they'll save 5 howling banshees 1000 years down the road.

I don't really care, as long as the dragons aren't too cliche.

The least Cliche dragons I ever saw were in a movie called Reign of Fire, the dragons were awesome because they weren't mystical in anyway.

I pray to each god of TES to make the dragons symbolic. Heck, even the Nerevarine was 'dragonborn' it means agent of the empire.

There was also a dragon at the end of oblivion's main quest. You could not fight it, but still.

that wasnt just a dragon, that was the avatar of akatosh, the dragon god of time, one of the aedra.

i could never get a really good view of akatosh, since i was always at his feet and he was all bright and glowing...

Kinda validates all of us who always asked for dragons and had someone come in and "scold" us for being so foolish.

I think dragons was one of the first things I put out there in the suggestions when I first joined this forum.

I have a feeling they're simply omething to do with Akatosh. I'm sure most of you have seen my theoryabout the dragons. Doesn't seem too bad.

I just hope there is only 1-2, as the main antagonist(s) in the game. Something ridiculously rare.

i think u all are wrong because dragon always refers to bruce li. Bruce li didnt die, his death was merely just delay, and when he dawns it will be in fire, as in his new movie "Fire". i cant wait to see the people of tamriel trying to stop him at all cost from making this new movie on their land. The men are mad becuz he's wooing all the women, and the women r made because he prefers chinese chicks. This is going to be the most excellent TES game with a 70's era kung fu feel to it. so next time u hear dragon jus remember the old master bruce li waking up from a slumber.

I see no problem with the inclusion of dragons in the game, in itself. Dragons have always been in the Elder Scrolls, and while they've generally not actually appeared in games, as I understand it, there's one in Redguard, so there's already a precedence for them in the series, and it's not like Bethesda is just pulling things out of the void so they can say their game has whatever is popular in main-stream fantasy right now. Now, I might be a little surprised that dragons are in the game because it's not the first thing that I would expect to see in the Elder Scrolls, especially when a game that takes place in the center of an empire that reveres them still has only one, and one that is actually the avatar of a god and only appears at the very end to deliver a well-timed deus ex machina, and therefore, in my mind, dopesn't really count, but I'm not bothered, I'll only complain if I feel they're not done well, and right now, we have absolutely no basis to assume they wont be, seeing as we still have very little information about the game, and I wouldn't be surprised if Bethesda will give only limited information about any dragons in the game to preserve the surprise.

I hope that dragons in the game are suitably epic, there should only be a few in the game, probably, and they should be important, if they do play the role of antagonists at all, they should be major bosses and villains in the game, not just random monsters for the player to fight. Though to be perfectly honest, I'd prefer if they're not enemies at all but rather are characters the player deals with in quests, maybe with a similar role in the story to Vivec or possibly Azura in Morrowind. Whatever role they play, though, if you fight them at all, it should be appropriately difficult and epic.

The least Cliche dragons I ever saw were in a movie called Reign of Fire, the dragons were awesome because they weren't mystical in anyway.

That's because the movie runs with the whole "Let's take a supernatural concept and say it's completely scientific and not magical in every way!" which often serves to completely ruin the concept, and really is VERY cliche, I just can't think of that many examples of it specifically apply to dragons. And in any case, when your setting already has a explicit examples of magic, doing that sort of thing seems to be quite counter-productive.
