I already owned and played oblivion for the ps3. no problems. I just bought the GOTY edition, for the expansion packs. I played the new disc and it brought up my old file, no problem. I waited 24 hours in the game and I got a message to check out the shivering isles. When i got to where the island is suppose to be, all there is, is a bunch of big blue boxes with ! in the middle of them. It says I found a strange door, but it's not there, just a couple of guys swimming around, talking about the door. I don't know if knights of the nine works or not, since i don't how to start it. any suggestions any one? i also tried starting a new game, from the beginning. same thing happened.

Missing meshes or some such. We get it regularly on the PC when someone doesn't do something properly or forgets something. Are you playing off the disc or did you do an install (I'm unfamiliar with how the game works on the PS3)? If only the disc is an option, you may have a bad disc.

It's not the disc. Any other suggestions?

Not really, I'm not familiar with the consoles but it does sound like a missing mesh. Sorry I couldn't be more useful.
