Time saving mods

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 6:57 pm

I couldn't find with google a mod that gives a Repair All button (or something to hotkey). I'm a master armorer so there's no reason not to roll it up into one click. Does anyone have anything like that? My finger is aching from all of the mouse clicks! Found something! Check here: http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=38582

The other was a mod to speed up inventory screens through storage bags. I just had a question that wasn't in the [REL] topics for the ones I found. Do any of them allow you to hotkey items within the bags? Like hotkeying a healing potion that's within a potion bag? It would also be good if a scroll bag would also show the scrolls in the Spells tab.

If there are any others you like for time saving, post 'em too!

I love QZ Easy Menus for being able to close the loot/container/store and dialogues with the Activate button, as well as pressing left to "Take All". I think a "Put All" button would be useful sometimes.

I also use Bag of Alchemy Rewrite to sort ingredients and keep them out of my inventory loads.
Same with Keychain

And of course Progress & nGCD for not fretting over the levelling system.

IFAIK, it's a game engine limitation that prevents a hotkey from getting any item from a container other than inventory.

Thanks for the Auto Repair link. As for other time savers:

http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=33743 (continues equipping with the next available arrow type)
http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=33696 (auto use of healing, restore potions)
http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=22414 (define categories of items per bag and auto sort/store)
http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=30192 (spell causes loose arrows to glow)
http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=34735 (define up to 40 hotkeys for gear, spells, combos)
http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=34613 (defined sets of gear - armor, clothes, weapons, jewelry; complements & works with Enhanced Hotkeys)
http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=14259 (spell gathers all ingredients within range, leveled)
http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=21721 (for when you need to shed a lot of encumbrance in a hurry)
http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=12851 (for poisoning arrows or weapons every 5 uninterrupted seconds while in combat)
http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9835 (designate containers for specific sets of items)
http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=15681 (designate include/exclude lists of items when looting containers)
http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=29283 (lets you know if a container is already empty)

Edit: If you are using Progress, you really should look at it's successor: Fundament. (Same author.)

http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=12859 can save time spent clicking through menus and confirmations, adding hotkeys to skip things such as "Do you want to buy this?" or "How many of these?"

http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=32266 saves me time from scrolling through my quest menu.

The Nice One's http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=32365 has a "Repair All" button...and much more. Check the description.

Already mentioned, Enhanced Hotkeys is a must for me.

Thanks for the suggestions!

How could I forget Enhanced Hotkeys?!? I don't know if I could play without it. I use QZ Easy Menus to deal with some of the Toggleable Prompts, and Wrye Bash allows changing the stack size.

After trying Auto Repair, I'm kind of disappointed that it only repairs armor that's equipped. Still it will save time.

I tried Automagic Bags. I'm going to have to keep certain items out of the bags so they are hotkeyable. I prefer Bag of Alchemy Rewrite to the ingredient Automagic Bag, because it allows automatic adding of ingredients to the bag, as well as retrieving by effect. With keys.. I'm undecided. Keychain hides it better, but it's an extra mod. I don't have a choice because it's not letting go of some of the keys anyway. I am not a fan of how the bags are weightless though, it feels cheaty. Maybe I'll have to make a rule to use no feather spells now. I love how fast my inventory is opening and clicking now.. SUCH an improvement

I'll have to look into Detect Arrows and Art of Speedy. I had gone into TES4Edit to null the texture of the barrels, sacks and crates that have nothing useful in them so I don't even see them in-game. The market district is now bare. Eh worth it.

I wanted to post again after trying Art of Speedy Looting, for anyone who was going to try it.

It seems it hasn't been updated in a long time, but I went ahead and tried it. It caused a lot of problems for me. Made a whole lot of items into quest items that I can't get rid of, and is causing me to not be able to open any containers sometimes, and I can't figure out a method to the madness.

Stay away!

Thanks for these links. I've just got back to Oblivion after several years and, even though I had most of my favourite mods (and omods) stored on another hard drive, a few I didn't. QZ Easy Menus was most wanted. Having been used to Fallout 3 and New Vegas with something like that already built in it started to get a bit annoying not being able to use the activate key to close menus. I wonder if it works for books, too?
Gather Ye Rosebuds is that one I was after but couldn't remember the name of, and that Bag of Alchemy Rewrite sounds like something I definitely need.

Other things I was looking for I see that Wrye Bash's bashed patch took care of them, so that makes my load order this time so much shorter

Edit: I guess I have one to add to the time-saving list. http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1979 - allows you to skip the entire intro dungeon with one click.
There is one little thing about it, though. It's not game-breaking, just odd. Upon exiting the sewer you'll have a stalker. He's not hostile and easy killed. Maybe just a leftover from the end of the tutorial. I've never looked into it.

I prefer Alternative Beginnings if you want to skip the tutorial dungeon.

http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=25012 has configurable weights for it's sacks. The only problem I ever had with it was very occasional crashing when using the special 'Sell Sack' (one-click solution to selling lots of loot) but due to it's rarity I never bothered trying to track down the exact cause.

For Easy Menus, yes it does work with books, as well as the barter confirm screen. There are only a few screens where activate/right click won't close, like the inventory menu, speechcraft screen, and pop ups that have multiple choices. For some screens with a Yes/No, you can press up to do Yes, and down to do No. Left button is Take All in a container (or is that part of vanilla?).

I didn't go for Storage Sacks because I use EE, and some stores offer 0 for items that aren't that store's type of item. So I'd lose a lot of money that way.

Bag of Alchemy Rewrite - I don't recommend turning the Auto-add-to-bag mode. There was some delay or something for me when using it. If you set it to a hotkey, you can sort ingredients without going into inventory, and it processes instantly. Doing it with the inventory screen open can take a while.
