Whats everything?

Is it disabled when useing GFWL due to achievements? And your just trying to find a way to cheat the system?

What I'm trying to do is use the add item/code mode thar's built into the game. ~ additem has been in there from the start it's just not working with the PC/LIVE version.

I understood that much. Was just asking what all you tried?

And then , on the GFWL account .
Isnt there an achievement system , to be tracked for the purposes of compareing with your friends. And in essence would be rendered kind of pointless if console comands were allowed ???

So I was guessing maybe they'er disabled when logging into your Live account. I really dont know cuz I never got GFWL to work on my system.

Edit to add: Ya looks like I was wrong.

Here's a fix I just found. But since your useing your live account youll have to find the FalloutPrefs where those saves are getting stored. Should be in a folder named after your live account. In the default save path of the game.

1. Do a file search for FalloutPrefs.ini OR Go into the Explorer and put the adress as: C:\Users\(Your login)\Documents\My Games\Fallout3
I suggest you do the former incase you aren't using the default install location.
2. Open up FalloutPrefs.ini
3. Go to the last line (bDisable360Controller=0) and push ENTER to create a new line
4. type in bAllowconsole=1
5. Save
6. Start Fallout 3 and try to bring up the console after the 'PLEASE STAND BY' slide.

Close but I think you still have to enable the console in the icons commandline -console but I'm not sure how to enter that with Vista, I add it to the icon and it stops working.

Im not sure what you mean. I see though that guys fix is probably not gona be the same for everyone. For example my pref.ini ends with [Decals] max=100
And it would make more sence for it to go in the [Controls] section of that file. Here's the link to that discussion where I found it.
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_other-gaming/cannot-use-console-when-press-tilde-key-in-fallout/7a0e9200-f109-4d53-81d7-1430832e3943

If you didnt allready have a look at this recent thread in another section here >>> http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1353922-unable-to-open-console-command/

Try what Rusty Gun says.

Anyways , good luck on it. Sorry if you thought I was just calling you a big cheater in the beginning

Another thing to try is Region and Language settings under Control Panel in Windows. See if the selected keyboard layout has been changed to something else than US standard.
