I mostly just want to get Poulson's Revolver from this DLC.

Somah is useful while you're playing the DLC because of her high repair skill but you don't necessarily need her to get by. You'll get your gear back a couple minutes after escaping the cell you start off in.

As stated.. you can get you're gear back rather quickly and has a high repair skill.... which becomes higher if you use her on a certain follow up mission.
(other possible followers also get extra perks if you use them... )
I you need to kill them..advice do so directly after the mq.
