So is this dead is dead? or dead is start over?

3 dog met his demise from a death claw north of vault 101.

I tried laying mines , but he just ran around them and swatted me in the head.

Wham Bam thank you Mamm ... ouch!

Couldnt talk my way out of this one ...

Updated the OP. :(

Dead is Dead. If you die because of a glitch, it doesn't count, and also, for the Fallout 3 version of the challenge, if you are killed for no apparent reason because of something ridiculous in the game that isn't related to your character's weaknesses (i.e. the way Papafern died) then you can just start the playthrough over from the beginning.

Ridiculous things include but are not limited to:

Random exploding nuclear vehicles
Shrapnel randomly nuking you with his fatman

Oh, and Big Daddy, I think the Dogmeat thing counts as a glitch, and it was directly related to Lucas' death, so if you want to restart from an earlier save, I think that would be okay. (It sounds like Dogmeat's AI was glitched.)

It's up to you, man. I still have the save from the beginning of that fateful game session. I've seen Dogmeat do this before, and have successfully jumped over him to get to cover, multiple times. The overlord didn't advance on me until I was about 30% health, so I had a little time to realize that there was a high chance of me dying when all I had was the half-wall and that one corner of the building, where if I leaned on it, I would take 50 percent of the beams instead of 100 percent. So, the argument for the other side is that I was stupid to not have have realized that it was a dead end with an exit behind my enemy, and a formidable enemy at that. An overlord is my worst nightmare, ghoul reavers? deathclaws? no problem. Overlord is ouchy. :cryvaultboy:
So what say you  Gamemaster?

I seriously want to try this once I finish my current New Vegas DiD.

Can I take Roy Philips? According to the GECK, his tag skills are Melee, Small Guns, Speech. And his SPECIAL is...

STR - 6
PER - 6
END - 5
CHR - 5
INT - 4
AGL - 6
LCK - 4

...which only comes to 36. So in order to make 40, I suggest adding one to STR, PER, CHR and AGL, making 7, 7, 5, 6, 4, 7, 4.

All ok?

I'd say you can reload since, even though the dead end thing contributed, the glitch did play a big part in your death. Lucas Simms has risen!

That looks good, I'll add Roy to the character list.

Damn, so much for man's best friend. I'll mark Lucas on the OP.

Deathclaw Sanctuary? That place had a lot of glitches last time I was there, for example: my Gauss Rifle wouldn't do any damage, a deathclaw became invincible, and I got stuck in a rock unable to defend myself. Anyways though, as long as a glitch didn't kill you, I guess it's set in stone. :(
I wasn't Lucas Simms
I was Vulpes Inculta, who is much cooler, but is significantly out of place without his fox hood.

My Fallout games don't seem to suffer many glitches, the ones from Fallout3 just seem to be clipping issues and there is one with Gotta Shot 'Em In The Head quest where even though Crowley is dead I've still to give him the keys  I'm taking them to Fort Constantine myself for whatever prize is there.

Random exploding nuclear vehicles
[censored] vechicles <_<
Imagine someone crashed two together while driving, it would be a disaster!!

I noticed Red Lucy uses the Survival skill, this isn't in Fallout 3 so I'd suggest maybe change it to Repair, Lockpicking or Barter?

Thanks for pointing that out. I copied a lot of the characters over from the New Vegas thread, and while I thought I changed all of the "Survival" and "Guns" to fit with Fallout 3; I guess I missed a few. If you or anyone else see any other mistakes, let me know.
