Fallout 3 recommended mods?

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 6:55 pm

I bought Fallout 3 about a month after it came out on PS3 and Fallout New Vegas the day it came out. I've spent a huge amount of time on both of these games over the years. I recently bought New Vegas for PC to mod and I loved it. I've ordered Fallout 3 and I wondered what your personal favourites were?

I personally recommend FWE + MMM , both of them adds/fix lots of things to make Fallout alot better. I'd go for them first, then add more as you play.

Two very simple mods that I like are 'vending machine' and 'hunting rifle with scope.'

I′m a Fallout 3 newbie myself and I will get some mods directly. The one I got so far is No Auto Aim which I think is mandatory as it disables the automatic aim, preventing the gun from shooting into a wall if you aim at someone′s arm in a window as the gun wants to shoot at the torso.

I′m not sure I will add too many mods right now more than that one, unless someone thinks a certain mod is very much needed because some feature of the game is up a rabbit′s [censored]

You should really add Fallout Wanderer's Addition, Fallout Remastered and Fellout. They really change, IMO, for the better, the whole feel of the game. Of course, you would also have to add FOSE and FOMM.
Fallout Remastered: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=16928
FWO: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=2761
FOSE: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8606
FOMM: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=640
Fellout: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=2672

Just my 2 caps.

For you first playthrough mirocu, I'd hold off on Fallout Remastered and FWE. I'd suggest a vanilla playthrough first to get a proper feel for the game.

Wouldn't hurt to go ahead and grab a few utilities though.

That′s actually what I recommend Oblivion and Morrowind newcomers too, and I will be lenient with mods for now. I just read about the aiming issue and thought "that has to go!"

Yes I didn't like that in my first playthrough. It's more noticeable with weapons with a high rate-of-fire especially the Gatling Laser, the beams hit everywhere on your target except where you're aiming.

Nice thread just looking for some mods myself but wanting to keep the experience as close to vanilla as possible but with a few Why didnt they think of that in the first place Mods, like some better looking faces, body replacers, and gameplay tweaks...as well as any unoffical patches perhaps?
