Wierd thing added by mods

Post » Tue Nov 17, 2009 11:00 am

I recently installed morrowind again and got some mods, one has a wierd feature that makes NPCs talk to you whenever you get near them or enter their zone again or sometimes just randomly, does anyone know which mod does this? I would post my mod list but I can't work out how to get morrowind plugin manager to generate one, if someone could inform me how would be appreciated, thanks all

You mean that they say something, ar that they open dialogue menu?
To post at least your mod list (not load order) open the morrowind.ini file and GameFile= entires from bottom of the config file.

Well personally I don't see antyhing that may be doing that strange thing, but MLOX came up with that:

(Note that when the load order input is from an external source, the [SIZE] predicate cannot check the plugin filesizes, so it defaults to True).

Fairly sure it's the MPP. The MPP incorporates some fixes from TheOtherFelix's VGreetings mod:
All of the bugfix content from the VGreetings series has been addressed by the Morrowind Patch Project. None of the extra features are included, and upon testing, the Morrowind Path Project and VGreetings are very compatible.
In VGreetings NPCs will er... greet the player (sound files are played). VGreeting readme:
Imperials and Dunmer throughout the game with a disposition above 50 or 60 will now have a 10% chance (see section 4 at the end of this document) of using a Hello voice that acknowledges one of the PC's faction affiliations.

In addition, Dunmer will now acknowledge the PC's Great House rank (if present) over an equivalent Imperial Legion rank, with Imperials still giving higher priority to the Legion rank. Female Ashlanders will greet the PC as Nerevarine if the sign given by the appropriate tribe is being carried (or if all four signs are carried, for those outside of the main camps).

Vampire recognition Hello voices will now only be used by NPCs unwilling to speak with vampires. Most NPCs who would originally flee from or attack vampires only after dialogue was initiated will now react automatically after using a vampire recognition voice greeting. A global variable, VGVampHidden, has also been added which will disable vampire recognition Hello voices when set to any value greater than 0.

Vampire Attack and Hit voices now filter by variable rather than ID. This allows vampires to use race/six appropriate vampire sounds without requiring unique Voice entries, if the variables "cattlekilled" and "fightset" are declared in their script.

Many other, often previously unused or incorrectly used, voice samples in all sections will now also be used under appropriate circumstances.
Not sure how much of that has made its way into the MPP.
