What Do You Think About Vehicles In The Games To Come.

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 7:10 pm

Well, NCR is probably well on their way to work something out about good transportation. First of all, we already know they got alot of vehicles (they got functionable trucks, and studieng the Wiki they seem to work. Along with trains, as they are building train roads to Vegas using the convicts, plus the captured vertibirds they got from the Enclave, and looking at the one Kimball uses, they seem to work fine with no fuel problems whatsoever).

Also, in tactics vehicles are plenty, and even though the midwest brotherhood was more awesome then others, someone else should be able to develop or scavenge working vehicles, so vehicles in the next game is not unrealistic against the fallout lore, so people stop saying that.

We already know there is working boats from the point lookout dlc.
Well I meant some kind of cargo ships or something like http://threegosideways.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/aral-ship.jpg, http://a.rgbimg.com/cache1q061m/users/t/ta/tacluda/300/mTnz6ZW.jpg or http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2008/04/17/china276.jpg (that's really small compared to other cargo ships), not a raft with a motor.

They could even have a navy, but I'd imagine that it would be really small.

I dont think so, atleast there are no sources that mention a navy, so for now they dont.

1. There are working ships in San Francisco, both the PMZ Valdez and I recall the Shi use fishing vessels.

2. Power Armour is not supposed to slow the user down, it gives the wearer moterised and hydrolically powered joints; if anything it should make people move faster and it might very well have done before Fallout 3. In Fallout 1 and 2 it would increase your strength by 4/5 to show that is basically carries itself and increases carrying capacity. It allows any man to weild weapons that would normally have to be mounted onto vehicles such as miniguns, fat-man laucnhers etc and is therefore a perfectly acceptable evolution of mechanised infantry.

I don't understand, before Fallout 3 came along Power Armour never hindered movement and carried itself by adding like 100 to the carry weight (double it's own weight).

Yeah, you can carry more [censored] around, you are technically armored, you can carry bigass guns that only vehicles can have (well like you said, but you can kinda do that anyways)= human tank.

I don't mean they absolutely do, what I mean is I think there is a good chance, because it could have some use.

Yes, but it is uncomfirmed for now, but it is very likely, boats arent that hard to maintain, and NCR does have alot of vehicles (compared to everyone else (beside Enclave and midwest brotherhood) )

The oil tanker was the Enclaves, and it was blown up with the oil rig. I'm talking about boats, the NCR built themselves for trading along the coasts, now one ship that some Chinese people live on.

Was it now? Then how did the Chosen One flee the oil rig together with the Vault 13 dwellers and Arroyo villagers? :P

what about imply making the vehicles move more slowly (that way you would not have to have a map three times as big as the current one)? maybye 60% faster than on foot for an old (and damaged) car, pickup truck or cart, 120% faster on a motorbike. adding armor would slow the vehicle down.

I think it would be nice to be able to ride some kind of animal or a dirt-bike (some kind of off-road vehicle), but there is a major appeal in the series for the main character to wander and experience the wasteland on foot.

It would be cool to see larger caravans and people riding on something, like the giant mole-rat concept.

Cars if they work realistically with the physics, not just slide all over the terrain, and if they don't go too fast (say 40-50 km/h tops?). Say if the average human sprint speed is 30 km/h maybe, and world record sprint speed is ca 44 km/h (over 100 meters) so that wouldn't leave a car useless if we can sprint (although you'd tire fast, a car you could load with fuel to last) but won't turn it into a racing game. Also, if you hit something bigger than yourself, http://savagebeatings.deviantart.com/gallery/34104752#/d4ix69e. (Head crippled! Right arm crippled! Torso crippled! Right leg crippled... on Deathclaw: Right toe nail crippled!)

The Oil tanker you fix up in San Francisco and take to Control Station Enclave? Is that the one you are talking about? Must be because it is the only tanker in the game.

It doesn't get destroyed by the Rig getting blown up. As others said the Chosen One used it to get back to the mainland. Further more the Vagrants that live on the Tanker then use it to sail off into the sunset.

Edit: I forgot the obvious, the tanker is shown moving away from the Rig when it blew up.
