Do body armors have any effect on the head?

Will wearing body armor also protect the head (regardless if player character or NPC is wearing a head armor/helmet/hat)?

Will it be better to use hollow point ammunition (does more damage to unarmored opponents) on an enemy with body armor, but no helmet/head armor when targeting the head?

Armour does affect the entire body, including the head. Someone wearing Leather Armour will have 6 DT everywhere, but a headshot does double the damage. Hollow point ammo will not work on someone not wearing a helmet.

Yes, helmets as far as I know only add on additional DT bonus. You don't have hit location division of your DT.

Maybe Beth will add that in the next game if they are not as lazy as they sometimes are.

I believe this has been an issue from Oblivion (maybe Morrowind too). Skyrim still has this issue. Wearing boots somehow protects your head too. =)

You know, on my first fallout experience, I thought armor didn't affect the head as much as the rest of the body. (no armor up there) So when I did a lot more damage to the head, I had no reason to believe otherwise.

By the way, is this correct? Or do you mean "Hollow point ammo will not work on someone not wearing a helmet" or "Hollow point ammo will not work on someone not wearing a helmet"?

Looking back I probably should have rephrased that. Say you see someone wearing Leather Armour, but no helmet. The guys head still has 6 DT so Hollow Point rounds will do very little damage.
