DLC vs Ultimate Edition

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 2:42 am

Hi All,

Don't know whether anyone can shed some light at all, have NV, loved it just like FO3, and want to get the DLC for it. Was waiting until the Ultimate Edition as I thought surely the cost of the DLC would be reduced in Steam, but it is still £7.49 per chapter.

Any news on whether, and if so, when the DLC will be reduced? Seems pointless me paying £30 to get all the Content, when I can pick up ultimate edition for £20, also getting the Courier's Stash and the Gun Runners Arsenal thrown in. Seems just as pointless getting the Ultimate Edition when I have a perfectly good copy of NV here...

Also can anyone confirm will I be able to use my NV saves on the Ultimate Edition? Is it simply a case of copying the save files over to the Ultimate Edition should I decide to purchase it?

Thanks!

There shouldn't be any problem in using saves from your NV copy. I think the only problem is when you remove a DLC from your harddrive, and try and load a save that had DLC items. But since you just have the base game, I can't see there being a problem. You should just get radio signals when you load up your game, after installing the DLCs. And I would just buy the Ulitimate Edition. Especially if its that cheap. You'll get your money's worth in play time.

You can still use your old saves, there is just a little message that says DLCs have been loaded. I would just get the Ultimate Edition and trade in the other disk to help pay for the Ultimate edition.

Well, the price was reduced to 4 dollars during Christmas, that's when I bought LSR and OWB.
