Skyrim and Japanese calligraphy

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 1:01 am

My first post, so hello to you all.

I tried to link to a short movie in which I combine the wolrd of Skyrim that I experienced with my art of Japanese calligraphy. A rather unusual idea, but I hoped you may enjoy it. Perhaps it would hint Bethesda to include more Asian motifs into the Elder Scrolls VI...who knows...

Since I am not allowed to post links, Hungry Donner (moderator) has kindly offered his assistance, so we should have a link here soon.

Cheers,
Ryuu

Excellent video, although I am something of a calligraphy aficionado. Arabic calligraphy actually played a big part in my early graduate work on the use of art in culture movements. I eventually switched to Education, but my love of calligraphy has remained. :)

I really appreciate it. The Chinese and Japanese calligraphy differ greatly in form and expressiveness from the Westen one, or even Arabic. Each Chinese character may have a few meanings and few sounds, and even single character can tell a whole story by the way it is written. I tried to keep the phrases as tight and short as possible, for a greater artistic impact.
