Just an idea. Why not make it more of a community event by letting everyone to vote? No judges needed, just a minimum requirement for the number of posts in the forum required to vote, to avoid someone creating new accounts for that purpose. You know humans, they're evil like that ;)

I'm thinking something like 100 would be enough.

I'm not sure that a number of posts equates to respectability or good judgement.

I was actually thinking of us. ;) We've got a fair few posts and we're still immature as hell. ;)

The point of the number of posts wouldn't be to equate the votes to respectability, it would only discourage cheating.

"Good judgment" is a very subjective thing to define. Posts would win by how many people they resonated more strongly with.

Of course, if you intend to weed out what you'd call "bad judging", having preselected judges you trust is the way to go.

You really think that the people in this forum are that desperate for affirmation that they would cheat just to win a monthly writing comp?

That's exactly my point.

Everyone is open to leave their critique in the thread but ultimately I think it should be the judges who make the decisions.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised. Regardless, I just included that in because I thought that could be an objection to my idea.

EDIT: Also, I'm thinking that maybe the rules shouldn't change anyway, now that there is an entry since the author only agreed with the rules in the OP.

At least this month :)

Think I'll wait a couple of months before I write anything. See how this goes becaus, to me, it is being made into something far more complicated than it needs to be lol.

OP with said judges names
Post a story
Judges vote
Judges announce winner
Done.

IMO anyways

Right then, I'm stepping down as a judge so that I can handle the anonymous submissions. Personally I feel that we should stick the original format (the one Cobra posted) but to maintain fairness and stick with precedence we will keep the Anon submission system.

Not written anything for a while, and nothing TES, but this sounds interesting enough to give it a go.

On an unrelated note; Sir Jeff, like the avatar. I used to love watching Dogtanian.

I think I have never been so severely ninja'd. Before my internet was horrifically murdered I was writing up to put this thread here after I posted to my RP's, and then my internet goes and has a stroke and dies on me for a month, and I come back to this....

Hanging my hat for now, :wallbash:
