Arena and Daggerfall speak for themselves, but I've always supported reviving them with new graphics or just making them run better on modern systems. Daggerfall is the superior game overall, but Arena is more stable in my experience, with less bugs and has a more "epic" main quest (though pretty standard fantasy fare) that traverses the eintire continent of Tamriel. As stated, they're both available for free.
Redguard is an under appreciated game, in my opinion. It is the only Elderscrolls "adventure" style game and has the only fleshed-out main character. Though not RPG, where you get to make your own character, I still like the atmosphere and story and characters of the game. The characters were the first voice acted ones in TES history and I thought it was pretty cool. I loved the Khajiit store-keeper character and the Dark elf was pretty memorable, not to mention many others (don't want to give spoilers). Overall, it's an interesting addition to the Elder Scrolls history/lore.
That said, the interface was a bit awkward, and though I was able to get past that and enjoy the game, my friend, who just gave me his copy the game for free (his loss) thought the interface made the game 'unplayable' for him. He went on to play Deus Ex. Whatever.
If you can find Redguard on E-bay or something (probably cheap) I'd say it's worth a try. I'd love to see this game redone with a better interface and graphics update (the primitive 3-d mesh models are a little outdated) but it is definitely playable to me, but I haven't tried to run it on a more modern (i.e. my Win 7) system.
Battlespire, on the other hand, held alot of promise, but was sadly too buggy or unstable for me to ever get it working right. I would still like to play through the story one day, and the premise of doing PvP or Co-op in Elderscrolls was interesting.
