i live in warm--->hot country and i don't wear bikini...in fact exposing our skin to the sun is bad for skin health, we can get sun burn and skin cancer. The warmer the country is more cloth they wear. Look at Arabs and middle easterners, and India, even the men cover the whole body, it is because of the heat. Clothes cover the skin from UV and direct heat exposure.

There are in some sense of the words. Anytime there are briasts in a piece of armor it is ridiculous. That would guide a weapon or arrow straight to the woman's Heart. A damned stupid design. Unfortunately most fantasy games have those things as their fanbase often wants them for various perverse and non perverse things.

Pretty much, armor has always been Asixual, to fit both females and males comfortably, no way that they are going to spend more money making separate armor for females and males, basically boob armor was made, as you put it, "Unfortunately most fantasy games have those things as their fanbase often wants them for various perverse and non perverse things"

Anyway on topic, it really depends on the character, Jericho uses the Imperial armor. He also has some other armor, but rarely uses it!
Sometimes he will use a hood, but most of the time he will go without a helmet, if he has to use one he uses the Imperial one, he had to go once with robes, that made him trip all over the place.
And of course he has some casual wear that he wears around the towns, full fur armor in Burma though.

Just the suggestion of boobs in the shape of the armor is perverse now? I didn't realize 11 year olds played this game. Seriously, what post-pubascent male could look at that and go "OH BABY!"

I just... It's exhausting, how much effort we put into getting offended at anything to do with our bodies, at all.

I said for none perverse reasons too...Don't be so defensive. There is nothing wrong with admiring the human body. Not saying there is. You cannot deny there are those(very much advlts) who do take perverse pleasure in all those types of armors though, amongst other things. Just look at the mods(and download numbers) out for nvde mods and skimpy outfit mods in Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout 3/New Vegas and Morrowind. Not like I am saying anything unsubstantiated here...

In Vanilla Oblivion I liked to use the Dark Shirt, Leather Boots, Leather Bracers and Blacksmiths pants as some kind of adventuring outfit lol.

In Morrowind it was pretty much straight up High Ordinator armor.

Of course there is nothing wrong with admiring the human body! I admit finding myself sometimes playing 3rd person in Skyrim when I'm playing as my dragonborn, he is a orc who wears the shirtless fur armor when he is in town, I really can't play someone wearing a chain mail bikini in combat, for me armor is suppose to protect, anything "sixy" just screams "KILL ME!"

i agree with Albinodunmer, in real history, armor for women don't have such design. My people also have armor, and it is unisix in design, both can wear them. But there are also light armor for women (light chainmail with decorations).

I'm not sure anyone's getting offended, just pointing out that female armours are usually highly impractical. I'm somewhat annoyed that the kotaku article managed to praise the female armour in Mass Effect when you have Jack running around with a bit of electrical tape accross her nipbles for protection. I don't necessarily think it's a problem. If we made all the armour in every game as realisitc as possible it would all look the same and get pretty boring. However, I do think there is often huge disparity between the coverage granted to male and female characters. We wouldn't bat an eyelid at a female rogue wearing what is essentially a bikini, but how often do we see a male character in assless chaps with a battle codpiece?

As for my characters, I generally favour Imperial gear in Morrowind, newtscale usually. In Oblivion I wear leather gear with black wide pants trousers and a hood.

I missed that part about jack. But then that is a game that uses shield technology not armor as its means of preventing penetration...umm maybe that needs rewording given the context lol.

You actually see Men in fairly revealing clothing all the time. 300 was full of guys with 8 packs and I am pretty sure that was the requirement for the role lol, 90% of Arnold Schwarzenegger's movies, Skyrim's Forsworn Armor, sixual themes sell on both sides of the gender and sixuality fence.

Maybe you're right. I suppose I often don't notice the sixualisation of male characters. Off the top of my head though a specific example is the chasind robes from Dragon Age. Check them out if you haven't played/can't remember them. When you equip the exact same set a male character has been wearing on a female about half the material goes missing.

As for Arnie's costumes, I think the leotard from The Running Man is my favourite.

Yup, all robes for women in Dragon Age (except Circle mage robe) are like that, lols just look at Morrigan....

luckily Oblivion don't have such, but Obvilion armors are too ugly. I like Imperial armor (in which i loot from dead Imperial guard in Kavatch) and town guard light armors. Other than these are just like Robocop and Power Rangers...

Obviously, female armor is skimpy to distract male warriors and trick them into spending their time ogling instead of fighting.

I understand skimpy armor is part of the fantasy genre, but like I've said before: What's the point of wearing armor if you're going to leave all the vulnerable organs exposed?
Give me an attractive, well-armored warrior woman over a skinny supermodel in steel underwear any day.

This is a TES IV:Oblivion-specific observation, but purely magical defense is more effective than physical armor for both genders, so I'm generally running around in enchanted clothing, skimpy or otherwise. In a world with that reality, the choice of physical versus magical armor is likely to be an economic one, or a reflection of the character's skills (i.e you need a higher skill to repair enchanted armor). Once you get to be able to enchant clothing at a high enough defense level, the fact that it doesn't degrade is balanced by the fact that you could probably repair without breaking hammers anyway.
