devs companions svck.

This may have been done before but im doing it anyway.

In all of gameing that ive done bethesda is the 1 company that does companions so horribly. You give us the option to marry a companion but absolutly no dialoge other than "most die fast in skyrim" wich pretty much says that the companion doesnt care 1 bit for the player.its aquire companion,do quest, get amulet, marry and thats it you don't know the first thing about them.

Its so shallow you could probably take this feature out and it wouldnt be missed. In fact every last romance option in the game are the exact same. With only the race or textures being differant.

Bioware isnt flawless by any means (look at ME3) but they did do companions right. You care about them.I most likely will take some shot in the back if I can take out the guy shooting Liara in the face. That doesnt happen here. The only person able to kill my companion,,,,,is me.Hell forbid you play a mage and use fireball.

And you couldnt even address the level up issue with companions. Why in the hell did you make companions a feature. It feels and plays so half assed i cant find words to describe it.

Would i rate this a 10?Hell no but i would a solid 9.I am a fan of bethesda games i have bought all of the elderscrolls and fallout games + thier dlc.
But enough is enough. If your going to keep putting companions in your game take a note from bioware abnd do it right.Quit halfassing it.Its shallow and unrememberable. This is the hallmark of how you do companions completely wrong.

This just in, ALL companions in TES games svck, its really not that surprising.

Also the companions in ME aren't really that much better, they just have storylines that lead into badly written side missions that reveal more of the character, a standard thing for a Bioware game. As for Fallout, New vegas actually had decent companions as well as 1, 2 and tactics...3 not so much but I can't really talk because I never used companions in 3.

I will admit New Vegas had more intesting companions to a point.it wasnt easy to aquire them in some instances after that tho they were bland at best.Never really offered anything past aquireing them.Skyrim has taken a huge, give me a bus ride, backstep from that.So much so companions are nothing more than an invincible tank if i dont kill it.

As far as ME goes, you cant knock the level of detail it went through.Wether or not it was as deep as you wanted it to be is irrelevent.I only mention it because it did try to make you connect with your companions. This does not whatsoever. It actually takes a giant leap backwards and says this is just fluff. They more or less should be an equipment item to make you take less damage.

No personality at all.No reason to want to marry 1 over the other, other than what grafic they have. And then after you marry they simply do not know your married. It was never implemented they simply do not care.

Im not talking about cutscenes. Most of us have internet if you want to see that you can.Im talking connections. And bethesda companions give the least reason to connect to them out of any game that offers companions to date.If you want to talk cutscenes play the witcher 2.

For romance/friendship options, i like Dragon Age, we get to know our companions, some of players even fall in love with the pixel boyfriend/girlfriend, i think TES should follow Dragon Age example.

In any romance, there must be story behind it, emotional in depth dialogues, companions special character, companions back story, there must be conflicts and solutions, jealousy and rage, love and serenity....

In Dragon Age, the player have the opportunity to be with their "lover", learn about him/her, have cat fights, arguing or agreeing, influence their lover and friends, or get influenced by them...

And romance need a very good voice acting.

I don't mind if there is no six in the game, no need it, there are a lot of other things more important than six

It's a difference in focus. ME and DA are about linear story and party-based gameplay, so strong companions are necessary for the game to work. TES is about sandbox exploration, in which companions aren't at all important. That's not to say that TES can't get better with them (Skyrim is, after all, the first game where they were included at all), just that expecting Bioware style companions isn't realistic.

Indeed. Also, marriage and crafting, for example, are first timers for Beth and as expected they svck compared to other rpg games. But in time Beth--hopefully--will mature on these matters.
