I forgot how huge and mountainous Morrowind was. It really is amazing that this game was able to run on the original Xbox, especially with a crappy iteration of the Gamebryo engine.

And that first pic is now my background. Many thanks.

Basically the first one looks like the second one except it is an on angle overhead view of Vivec with Vvardenfell in the background.

Mods, I'm assuming?

Looks beautiful! I'm really interested to try out some mods that increase the view distance, as I am sure they will work on my rig and it's a little odd the way that hills seem to 'grow' as you get closer to them. On the other hand, I sort of like the fact that I don't know what's around the bend; I need to use the road signs and try to follow directions or I'll get hopelessly lost.

Probably the Morrowind Compiliation: Sound and Graphics with view distance to the maximum around sunset/sunrise. Still, stunningly beautiful. And this is from a 9 year old game, although improved with quite a few graphical mods.

Nice for photos, but I prefer about a 6 cell maximum fog distance. You get a decent view, where things haze out gradually. You can just catch a glimpse of the Vivec cantons in the distance from the Seyda Neen silt strider platform, but you can't see how tiny the whole island is from the nearest hilltop.

What those screenies needed were my Mountainous Red Mountain mod, to really make Red Mountain more of a mountain

I'd like to see what it looks like in the vanilla game. Where were these screenshots taken? What part of Morrowind, I mean. Oops, Vivec!

That's Darknuts Dagoth Ur Mod, which massively expands the Dagoth Ur complex into a death trap fortress for the 6th House.
