[REQ] Better better bodies

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 1:13 am

Now that we're 10 years removed from the original Morrowind launch, many if not most aspects of Morrowind have been greatly improved with various mods and textures. While Better Bodies is a vast improvement over vanilla Morrowind, those bodies are low-poly models that look fairly dated. With all the other improvements, they stand out a bit today.

I believe there are some body mesh resources that frequently get ported to other games. Morrowind would also need updated bodies for other races as well. Is this something someone would be interested in doing?

As long as BB-Clothing fits... It bugs me a lot that when I'm using a fairly exotic body replacer (e.g. FO3) that you have no clothing except Vanilla. A new body should at least have the same shape.

This I don't understand. Liztails beast bodys are nice high poly models. I updated all my feline race mods with it. Or did you mean sth else?

There are higher resolution textures available for BB. The meshes are still what they are from that venerable oldie, though, other than some improved hands.

While it might be high-poly its not close to today's standards. It was good for that time-period.

I think he meant something like Biont were working on, a replacer for the Argonians (bump-maps 2048x2048 textures etc. That's stuff for 2012.

But ya, I think it will be hard to find anyone that's not busy with their own projects.

I agree that a realistic looking body with a similar shape to BB would be ideal so that most clothes and armor would still fit.

The fingers are fairly nightmarish.

Yeah, they look like their hands cramped. :P I'd most likely like to see a few body types ported over from Skyrim and Oblivion mods, but I'm afraid those would all be completely incompatible with BB clothing.
