What makes for great armor depends on what you’re looking for. If it is simple defense, then heavy or light ultimately will not matter much except that heavy will always be more durable. Enchantment wise, I submit that you are best off enchanting your own. Sure you can only put one enchantment on any single piece, but you get to have full control over the underlying pieces and what enchantment you put on each.

Choose armor or clothes based on the look you want. At high levels, enchantments that boost skills are pretty worthless (since your important skills will be at 100). Your best ‘armor’ is a collection pieces that you like the look of enchanted by high level sigil stones. You can pop enough defense into a normal set of clothes to make an attacking dragon wince.

I've just found mine. Got a full set of Mythril, which is level appropriate, in a fort. Then got a mythril cuirass enchanted with a 13% resistence to blade and blunt in an Aeylid ruin. You'll find some good stuffs exploring and dungeon diving.

The light armor I like best, early in the game, is Chainmail, sometimes mixed with Heavy armor for looks. You can find it best by dungeon diving and then at the shops that specialize in armor. Leather, Chain, Elven, and Glass - never tried Mythril. All my characters select both light and heavy armor as a main skill, and when they max them out, I always go with light armor. But by that point, they don’t really need regular armor.

One of my players has the following: Ring, Necklace, Earrings (mod), & Sandals enchanted with Transcendent Sigil Stones of Shield 20%. That gives her an armor rating of 80. She is an archer but carries a shield with 18% Shield which gives her an armor rating of 98 which is in excess of the max 85. She also wears the Ring of Vitality and her Wrist Irons are enchanted with Detect Life 180’.

So it doesn’t matter what she wears or does not wear for the rest of her attire. Select what looks best on your character.

At very low levels you can do the "Two Sides of the Coin" quest in Bruma. That will give you a full set of Chainmail armor, except for the helmet. To start that quest you can go to Bruma and listen for rumors about Joundr.

Hmm, you seem to make a lot of threads asking where to find this and that. Don′t mind me asking, but are you even playing the game?
