Blue Screen Help...

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 9:11 am

Hi... My computer was running the Oblivion just fine when I changed my output from 640 x 900 to 1600 x 900 (ideal for my screen) and then went back to playing the game. I had to leave the game to go to work and when I returned, only 3 hours later, the game showed the blue screen at everything, black when I would enter a building... (thinking that it would help, I was lucky enough to be near a door). Now I can't seem to get rid of this blue screen, and even trying to start a new game the character doesn't show up or anything. I uninstalled the game (twice) and reinstalled it, patched, and now I am at a complete loss...

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
System Model: Dell System Inspiron N7110
BIOS: Default System BIOS
Processor: Intel Core i5-2410M CPU @2.30GHz (4 CPUS), ~2.3GHZ
Memory: 8192MB Ram
DirectX Version: DirectX 11

Someone please help me understand what happened and what I can do to fix this problem....

Since you have chosen to pretend you think everyone in the place is clairvoyant, when the fact is, we are not, we cannot begin to answer. You won't tell us what (AMD or nVIDIA) graphics card you have, what driver information applies, what the error message is; fact is, you told us almost nothing.

It looks to be a laptop with a GeForce GT525M. This sounds to me like the NVidia Black Screen bug. Does the problem go away if you turn off HDR and choose Bloom (in the options)?
