help with skycaptain's Can't touch me.esp

this sweet mod unfortunately has an issue that keeps it from working, I noticed because wrye bash would automatically disable it when I rebuild patch.

looking on tesnexus comments I found a way to fix this:


"Skycaptain: I was getting an unknown error at offset oxo442 in the script for "Can't Touch Me". I edited the last entry in that offset to 359, instead of 342 resulting in no more errors. I enjoy a decent battle, your combat code gives me waht I want."





so does anyone know how to do that?


or, could anyone just fix that and reupload ( or send it via email or something if you prefer ) ? it's a tiny file, and would be a great mod if it weren't buggy... it's a shame, I'm sure Skycaptain would approve of the bugfix...

I've seen you same similar things in a couple threads now. You should know that this community's stance on changing, uploading, etc., other people's work is only done with express permission.

I do know what the stance is, but he's been away for something like an year and a half. If I could, I'd just report the bug to him so he can get it fixed. so... how do you ask permission to someone who's not there?

Last active on these forums 7 months ago - not so long, actually.

The accepted way forward is to try to contact the author via threads, pm, nexus, and to check personal websites. Ask around. Perhaps someone is in email contact with the author and can pass on a message...

But you gotta give it a thorough try and even then wait an acceptable amount of time before messing with another author's stuff.

should be easy to fix with CS

later today I plan to get that so I can fix both this and the script for WAC - Gladiator ( arena gates sometimes refusing to open )

I'll PM you if I manage to do this stuff correctly :)

I haven't fixed the Gladiator .esp after all, since that module is AWESOME but sadly not yet complete ( ends with cliffhanger ) I'm not going to use it.
