I'm not sure if this is a bug or what, but is got to the part where i reach the citadel, and i had Charon along with me for quite a good while, when i talked to her she told me how she respected my father and all that, and asked if i could allow her to aid me, i told her yes, and now she's my companion along with with Charon...

This is my first playtrough and i saw some exploit videos before hand out of curiosity, but i was never planning on using then (especially because i wouldn't have the guts to kill Dogmeat), but now it semms the game allowed me to get these two without me actually having to do anything special. So can anyone clarify if this is a some kind of bug, or has it been part of the game from the start?

Sounds like Star Paladin Cross. If you are very good karma-wise, she will join you. Though it is definitely a glitch to have two followers. Dunno.... enjoy it while you can, don't give them your good stuff.

Yeah i just figured that out by myself... i gave her her main weapon the lazer pistol and she won't stop using her stupid [censored] hammer, it pissed me off so much and not to mention she gets in the way alot... i'll try to swap her with fawkes, i heard that you can have him later on and he actually has a OP main weapon.

Yes. This is a dialogue glitch. When you talk with her, you picked the right dialogue choice, I believe that goes along the lines of "Well...if you want to aid me...I cannot stop you", or something like that, which will ignore the fact on how many followers you already have.

Actually...the maximum of followers to obtain is 6. I will list the steps if it is any interest to you or anyone.

1) Obtain Bad Kharma

2) Get Jericho As A Follower For 1000 Caps

FOLLOWERS = 1

3) Go To Paradise Falls

4) Go Near Eulogy Jones

5) Fire Jericho...Then Quickly Talk To Eulogy Jones

6) Ask Eulogy If You Can Buy Off Clover For A Follower For 1000 Caps

7) Exit Dialogue With Eulogy And Swiftly Talk To Jericho Again, Before Clover Has A Chance To Start Dialogue With You

8) Rehire Jericho

9) Exit Dialogue With Jericho And Talk To Clover. She Will Be Added As A Follower.

FOLLOWERS = 2

10) Make Your Way To The Scrapyard

11) Find Dogmeat And "Speak" With Him, To Obtain Him As A Follower.

FOLLOWERS = 3

12) Kill Dogmeat(There Is A Logical Reason For This)

FOLLOWERS = 2

13) Get Neutral Kharma

14) Go To The Museum Of History And Make Your Way To The Underworld

15) Go To The "Ninth Circle" Bar

16) Talk To Ahzrukhal And Obtain Charon's Contract...Whether That Be By Killing Greta, Paying 1000 Caps Or Paying 2000 Caps.

17) Go Near Tinker Joe, Near The RobCo Facility

18) Fire Charon

19) Quickly Talk To Tinker Joe And Buy Off Sergeant RL-3 From Him

20) Exit Dialogue With Tinker And Swiftly Run Back To Charon And Rehire Him

FOLLOWERS = 3

21) Exit Dialogue With Charon And Talk To Sergeant RL-3. He Will Be Added As A Follower

22) Obtain Good Kharma

23) Go To The Citadel

24) Go To The Citadel's A-Ring And Speak With Star-Paladin Cross

25) As You Go Through Dialogue With Star-Paladin, About Asking Her To Join You As A Follower, Make Sure To Pick A Choice That Says Something Along The Lines Of, "If You Wish To Help Me, I Cannot Stop You". Picking Any Other Choice Will Just Result In Her Denying And Saying That You Have Too Many Followers. However...In Picking This Option...She Will Be Added As A Follower.

FOLLOWERS = 5

26) As You Go Through Levels...Obtain The "Dogmeat's Puppy" Perk

27) With This...Dogmeat's Own Pup Will Spawn Near The Entrance Of Vault 101. Obtain Him There.

FOLLOWERS = 6

28) With This...You'll Have A Total Of 6 Followers.

(Note: After The "Trouble On The Homefront" Quest...If You Send Everyone Out Of The Vault, Butch Will Go To Rivet City's "Muddy Rudder Bar". With This...You Can Go Up To Butch And Fire One Of Your Own Members And Recruit Butch. Matter Of Fact...In Obtaining The 6 Followers This Way...You Can Be Able To Replace Anyone For Anyone On Your Followers. But You Cannot Have Any More Than 6 Followers.)

(Note 2: I RECCOMEND Doing ALL Of This AFTER The "American Dream" Quest, As You Lose All Of Your Followers, In Being Captured To Raven Rock By Autumn And The Enclave. You Will NOT Be ABle To Get Them Back.)

Im pretty sure that if you fast travel away from Raven Rock before talking to Fawkes you can collect you other followers, then fast travel back and she'll join you too

And then of course there are all the quest related NPC's you can get. At one point i had pretty much everyone its possible to have with me/in my house

Fawkes is a he... well technically an it, but Fawkes was previously a he.

I seem to remember this being debated ad infinitum, to me Fawkes will always be a she.

One of the designers confirmed that he was absolutely a male and dialogue in game was a mistake.

I would't recommend Star Paladin Cross, get Butch after you do all this, he actually listens, instead of trying to kill a behemoth with a ****ing super sledge. Also, do all this right after you get done with the Raven Rock mission, before you talk to Fawkes and you can actually get 7 followers, plus the temporary ones (Red, Shorty, and Sydney) which adds up to 10. Give them all power armor and you will be unstoppable! \o/ (for a ton of fun, start attacking one and see what happens)

Also, don't forget Sticky and Rory Maclaren, who can be added as temporary followers, too.
