Zombie Apocalypse Mod, and Real Time Settler?

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 11:43 am

I recently got a new PC, more than capable of running this game on high settings nicely, I have played it on Xbox 360 every since it came out, but am thinking about buying the PC version, simply, for mods.

The idea came to me to put together the ultimate zombie survival experience. Imagine combining these two mods with a hardcoe mode New Vegas style. Being forced to survive not only the zombie horde, but being forced to scavenge for food and water. And eventually, find a good position, fortify it, and organize survivors for safety's sake. It would be a nightmare as soon as I come out of the vault.

There is even a mod that would let me do that to recruit random people I may find.

Could be interesting, now the big question I have, is if combined, will the zombies simply spawn within my settlement? I wouldn't mind the experience of fighting an "invasion" of the compound, but only if they rush in from the outside.

Are the spawn points for the zombies so densely packed that even my settlement itself is not safe from a sudden interior appearance?

Am I correct in my assumption that, should my settlement come under attack from them, that it's not necessarily a constant non stop stream,, like a raid, which can be fought off (or maybe not) and seemingly comes to a conclusion. I have seen some intense videos on you tube where they are spawning constantly by the dozens, which couldn't possibly be dealt with.

Anyone have any experience with these mods?

Thanks

Talking about these two, specifically:

Depending on where you build your settlement and how large it is, you could indeed have zombies spawning in the middle of it. The only way to know for sure would be to load up zombie apocalyspe in the Geck and check out the area where your village is built. Those things are relentless and will follow you into your buildings too. I can't imagine trying to build a village while running ZA. You'd need people to watch your back every time you needed to chop a tree.

It's been quite some time since I played Zombie Apocalyspe but I *think* the zombies just keep spawning and spawning. There are a number of different globals you can set through the console to configure it to increase or decrease the amount of zombies spawned, make them weaker or tougher, etc.

<> was an underrated gem , really. Altough, any mod that involves Real-Time strategy in an FPS has a LOT of bugs.
But it's a great mod , really. Altough, combining it with Zombie Apocalypse Mod would be...problematic.

I did this with New Vegas, it was fun, but do as ghouls said and load up the GECK and delete the zombie spawns where you want to build your settlement, probably something I should have done when I tried this. Though for New Vegas the zombies did not respawn.
