I was hoping to find an answer on this but have been very unsuccessful so here goes:

I have the goty for the ps3 and at the end of the main quest i go to the intercom and the decision is one of us has to go in the chamber and put in the passcode. Here is the problem; whether me or the brotherhood of steel chick goes it ends the game.

I also have the super mutant with me but he will not do it. I have also picked up charon but he will not do it either so how do I activate broken steel????

Well I see its been nearly 3 months and no response. SInce the first post I have gotten to level 20 11 times and cannot get broken steel to work. I then tried several times to get any of the side quests to work and nope none work. I am guessing that I probably have to go online somewhere and purchase the add ons in order to play even though I already have the GOTY edition for the ps3.
Maybe bethesda and/or playstation just got me to purchase the game for the false advertisemant on the box.

Did you get two discs? And use the second one to download all the DLC? - You probably shouldn't have Troll in your name if you want help.

The second disc that came with the GOTY has to be installed and than activated at the start screen.

A second disc for the PS3 version? I don't have one, all content was directly installed from the blu ray. It shows all DLC and marks them as active.

If you dont ever remember checking some boxes in the launcher (Data files) and then recieving radio messages with quest starters.

You might want to try clicking the " Data files" option (same screen as play button) Then Check the boxes of the DLC's you want to activate.

Close that and press play. You should start recieving radio messages for each one.

Im guessihng you have to replay the final scene at the purifier for Broken Steel to activate it.
Hopefully you have a save close to it.

It is sad that you got no response for so long , But you have to realize the dynamics of the forums , and posts can get burried rather quickly sometimes. So being a little more vigilant might of yeilded a response quicker.

Thanks for responding and the GOTY edtion for the PS3 only has one disc.

Also, I am somewhat confused about the data files. Do you mean the game data files after you sign in on your account because all game data files have no addons that I can activate or turn on only give information and delete as options.

Err....Ummm.....

Went and tried using a different follower also: Fawkes and charon both tell me to basically go do it myself.
Can anyone give me a little more advice about why I cannot get the addons to work!!!!!

No my ps3 only gives information and delete in data files section.
Also was reading and a forum-er had mentioned waiting for about 10 minutes in the purifier but before confronting the moron in the trench coat and that didn't activate it either. Also in the ps3 version of the game of the year edition there is but 1 disc. It says includes anchorage, the Pitt, broken steel. point lookout, and mother ship zeta and none of those add-ons work.

So again I ask how in the blue smurf do you activate the add-ons. Do I need to go to PlayStation network? If so that's not an option either. I plug in from my modem to my ps3 and my ps3 says no internet connection found. Then I plug it back into my modem and get online and talk to my ps3 and say, "Looks like I got Internet Connection there", DUMASS!!
OK so I am insane.
This game has driven me NUTS!!!!!!

Dunno whats going on with the DLC for your game.
Have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling?

Did you buy the game instore or did you download it? If the former have you checked that you haven't been sold the original game in the goty box?

Sorry i know those are both pretty patronising but I reallt can't think what else is going in.
