Would You Survive?

I'd survive. Why? Because I sneak around even when it's not necessary.

Considering I live in a very puny nation of five million that was supposed to be hit by at least 72 tactical nukes I think thats a "No".

Unless I was travelling abroad and then given my fetish for city slicker holidays the only place Id survive would be in Vegas.

I did my time as a light infantryman as my national service so I know basic small unit tactics and shooting. But survival skills in a post apocalyptic word? Nah. Not unless I became a ghoul. But then Id be the most sarcastic and ironic [censored] ghoul ever.

Oilsands contry? Youre screwed .
Those are north-eastern Alberta. A place I‘m not close to. Oil sand operations are still relatively new to our time I believe.
I highly doubt there’s going to be any Nuclear war in our time at least. I would say water is Canada's more precious resource, not oil. Besides, Canada is trading lot's of the oil to the U.S and other regions. Why blow little ol-Alberta up over some sand that is shared :P

Well... in the fallout universe any resource is a target and so is denying others the use of it. Water might be nice but thats post apocalyptia.

Well since I doubt Sweden would be a high priority target I don't think it would be hit by many nukes if any.
Life would be pretty chaotic at first but then it'd calm down a little.
So what would I do to survive?
Nothing really, just keep doing what I'm doing now.
Life would change, sure, but hardly to the extent of Mad Max 2, maybe not even Mad Max.
So I would just continue working for money and then buy groceries and cook food.
Cakewalk really.

Sweden like denmark is in the way of the russian baltic fleet. If you read the released warsaw pact docs, all of scandinavia would get pummeled. Unless you live well north of Stockholm in a mountainous region I dont think your chances are that great.

That is if Russia attacks us.
Even if they do I don't see why I'd be killed, I'd greet them with a cigarette and a vodka and intergrate into their society.

A velociraptor would be easy to spot among an entire population of bears on unicycles, so integration wouldn't be easy.

Well I'm sure I'll face obstacles but I think that in time my kind would be accepted.

Scandinavian nations and sweden in particular are famed for their tolerance and integration. Im sure that Velociraptors that can file for asylum would be quite welcome.

-Russia would :). I mean Denmark is a puny halfarsed nation military wise in our timeline (presently that is) and they still deemed us worthy of 72 nukes.

The times where Sweden and Denmark were duking it out as european military superpowers are long gone, but I believe that our two nations hold the record for nations going to war against eachother. We have pretty much been at it with 20 year intervals for about a thousand years. Thank god for soccer. Its a more civillized way of handling things.

Sad thing is, I don't like soccer. :(
Does that mean I support war? D:

not many nukes will be dropped in Scandinavia and most off en in S Denmark or Finland area close to St Petersburg.

our biggest threat is our nuke-plants that will blow!

i don't have a real gun at the moment but know where to get em...

bean in the scout′s and know some how grow crops --

so yes i think i have a pretty good chance to survive ... at least for some time..

yes correct.

but i think 72 of those nukes is reserved to prevent Germany to advance N and to box the Soviet navy from the atlantic, so once again not direct aimed at us..

Wrong. Between 72 and 100 nukes of a yield between 20-100 kilotonnes would be employed on day one according to plans from the 60ies.

Op gennem 60'erne blev der opereret med, at styrken der skulle bes?tte Danmark havde 1 00 taktiske A-v?ben fra 20-1 00 kiloton til r?dighed. De skulle i begyndelsen inds?ttes fra angrebets dag 1

Thats ample tactical nukes to render Denmark unviable as a state. Hell its enough to render Denmark unviable as human habitat or a battlefield due to fallout and radiation.

Assuming my Ipad still works and resources are available, I have downloaded what to in case of radiation contamination, so it would help that way...I do have some survival skills and I'm pretty good with my fists, knives, or blunt weapons, but I'd need some marksman training
