Battle Cry's & Emotes

Post » Fri Nov 20, 2009 7:35 pm

Are there gonna be like, battle cry's or emotes or both? Like APB's Emotes, or CoD 2's Emotes etc etc.

I sure would like to see some taunts or team compliemnts, e.g. " Is that all ya got!? " or " Nice Shot " etc

There is a fair amount of automatic battle pvssyr... it's not manually triggered though... just happens.

I believe there is also a context sensitive comm button.... ie; you need ammo you look at a soldier and hit the comm button and your character asks the soldier verbally for ammo.... removing the necessity of voice comms. More then likely, this will be the back/select button on 360/PS3

If I remember correctly, they will be in. If they're not, I hope they add them. It's quite usefull to quickly give team information (f.e. Need Ammo)

heh, reminds me of Lost Planet 2. That game had a ton of emotes. Honestly, I don't see the point of emotes accept for bragging. I kill a guy, I do an emote, he gets mad.
Voice commands on the other hand, I guess those would be useful. Though I personally wouldn't use them, because I'm on Xbox 360 with a headset.

You'd be amazed what a quickchatsystem can do. ^^ I played games where it was constanly used, without being abused. It worked kinda like the mission objective wheel. When someone called for ammo, an indicator on your map appeared as well as above the player requesting it.

That's what it was like for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. A syringe or health symbol would pop up on the map when someone called for a medic.

For me, emotes have always been for laughs. I always find it hard to taunt someone with an emote after you kill them, because you're either still in the line of fire from other enemies or you just want to rush somewhere and kill some more.

That's one of the fun reason to pick off the strays more time to taunt.

i wouldn't be opposed to emotes, but me, i don't use them..
can't see the point, when i want to send emotes i'll just go on msn where they serve a purpose(mostly showing people when they shouldn't be taking what i'm sending too seriously)

It'd be cool if they had emotes per nationality. I saw a customizable feature where you're able to set an accent for your character (British, American, etc), but I'm not sure what that is limited to.

i beleive, (dont quote me on this one) that there are nine diferent voice packs to choose from. They dont affect emotes, just how your character sounds, which makes me think that there will be voice taunts/crandom non-tactical comm pvssyr.

I hope they have a American voice.... as long as it's not some stupid stereotypical one.

Now I'm curious about what they are haha. A scottish accent would be hilarious.

I thought they didn't put in an American voice because most games have it already. I could be wrong though.

I mean I don't care if they don't have one I'd use a British one then, (I just love the British accent  ) but as long as they don't have that stupid voice that all the white reality stars have (I.E the stupid white guys with spikey hair that think they are all that because they lift weight and drink.) as long as they don't have a voice like that I'm fine  well a Aussie accent would be epic too!

Russias voice pack ftw lol. I am not funny ... Okay that joke is old.
I hope they'll have an irish accent and accents where you can clearly hear that people don't speak english as their first language.

would'be nice if we could get more voice packs as DLC. i'd love to have a stallone voice over or tha governator off kallifornea. hilarious!!!
was thinking maybe self recorded content could kick as, but that'd totally mess things up.

Hoping for a russian Voicepack
like a heavy accent and for no reason he refers to people as comrade.
should help all those BC2ers or MW2ers transfer easily so that the shock of not shooting at russians won't kill them.

Got it more or less planned out for my Security Medium:
Red Beret
"The shield" for the most of the outfit but some mixing up as well in white

Russian Voicepack if available :D

My opinion on emotes is "all go" if it's similiar to TF2 voice Menu
