The Battlespire was for a long time the training ground for battlemages. It's located between the realm of Oblivion and The mortal realm. The academy was, however, invaded from Oblivion by Mehrunes Dagon. The events of those days are long gone, but the aftermath was that the Battlespire was abandoned and plundered... It was empty for hundreds upon hundreds of years... Or so it was believed. An unknown evil dwells within the spire, awakened by an unknown force for an unknown purpose. The long abandoned Spire floats between realities and the gates leading to it were closed many lifetimes ago. The knowledge of the spire was lost during the years to come and soon there were scattered amount of scholars who even knew it of its existence. None of those who know what the Spire is, know of the evil within the Spire and that this very evil is attempting to open the gates back to Nirn. The gates opened all over Nirn, some in caves and some even in cities. The rumor of these gates quickly spread across Tamriel. The scholar-mages managed to close the gates in all cities, but the other gates are now scattered and hidden around Tamriel, in the murky swamp-lands of Blackmarsh, the warm deserts of Elsweyr, the snowy mountains of Skyrim, the deep forests of Vvalendwood, the ancient Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil, the magical and mysterious lands of Summerset Isles and the destroyed wastelands of Morrowind... Adventurers from all across Tamriel heard of these gates and tempted by the treasures and knowledge within these gates, they seek them out. Some stumble upon them by accident or enter them without realizing it was a gate. The gates blend with the surrounding area... Any door-way might be a gate... Any hole in the ground may be a gate...
The evil that dwells within the mutilated and cursed ruins of the Battlespire gathers adventurers and arranges a more brutal and terrifying hunt than any adventurers could've imagined where only one will survive the traps and challenges... You will not survive... Welcome to the Battlespire!
Your character-sheet should include these:
Name:
Age, race, gender, height, appearance:
Clothing:
Background:
The traits. (only posted in a PM to me, not in this Sign-Up thread). More about traits below:
Name: A name is obviously needed.
Age, Race, Gender, Height, Appearance: Normally, races have specific bonuses such as added resistance to frost or extra magicka, but those doesn't matter. All of there five are just customization. How does your character look like?
When describing how your character looks, be realistic about the traits. Meaning, your characters appearence should be able to be described by his biggest trait.
Clothing: Notice how I have no armor page here? That's right, you'll all be using pretty much the same outfit of worn clothing in this RP. Customize the color and look all you want, but it ain't going to protect you against anything. No enchantments, obviously.
Background: How did they end up in the spire? Perhaps they have a wife at home they want to see again? Flesh out the background to add atmosphere and emotions.
Traits / Skills: There's no weapons or spells list in this char-sheet, which you're most likely confused of. Well, due to the nature of this RP, you won't be given any. You may be given a weapon at some point, but it'll most likely disintegrate in your hands once the scene is over. Instead of armor, weapons, regular skills and spells, we are going to use the system I'm about to reveal below:
You will get 21 points to spend on these four traits, each having advatages in different situations.
Agility: If two confused players have one sword in between themselves, but neither have it in their hands, the agility will determine who will grab the sword. Obviously, if you don't want your character to grab the sword at all, then you don't do it. A scenario may be needed to explain:
A bosmer thief and a big nord are alone in a room, both two feet from a table with an enchanted dagger. One of the won't leave the room alive. But who is it? The natural thought is that, the dagger is indeed the way out of this trap, by killing the other one. However, the much faster bosmer might think something isn't quite right here. All choices of players go through PM's, so the bosmer player tells the GM "I'm not going to attempt to grab the sword." This means that if the nord player said through a PM that he wanted to grab the sword, he does so, since he doesn't need to pass an agility check against the bosmer. If both say they want to grab it, the bosmer gets it. However, the dagger might've bene enchanted with a on-touch kill effect, killing the one who grabbed it. But, if may as well give you the chance to kill the other player and move further... You never know.
Strength: Two players must push the other player down from a block to prevent their own death. Strength measures who walks out victorious. Again, it may be as twisted that the one who falls down is in fact the survivor, while the one who didn't fall down is pierced by a volley of arrows or electrical magic. Again, the choice is obviously the players. Maybe you don't want to push the other down? Perhaps this is just a silly test, that if neither of us is pushed down, we'll both move forward? You never know. Through PM's you control your characters actions. You may see a pattern here of what the traits are for. They test who succeeds if both players do the same action, and depending on the action different traits are tested.
Knowledge: Came to a particularily tough arcane puzzle with no way possible for regular humans to understand what to do? Knowledge lets you beat another player in a mind-game. The magical orb at the far end of the room needs to be filled with positive energy, your energy. While the other player tries to fill it with his positive energy, which to you is negative energy. The player with the msot knowledge will dominate the challenge. But perhaps it's a trap? Maybe my soul will be trapped if I fill it with my energy? Just say the word in a PM and your character never even tried to fill it!
Luck: But what happens if there's a tie! We both have 4 points of knowledge... Well, who of you is the most lucky bastard? Spending points directly onto this trait may save your life... but it may as well be waisted points... Sometimes a random falling spike may hit the unlucky...
An example sheet:
Spoiler
Name: Sheety McExample
Age: 32
Race: Imperial
Gender: Male
Height: 6 feet, 1 inch. (to write the height in feet and inches, use this calculator if you are used to meters and centimeters: http://www.csgnetwork.com/csgcvtcmeters2ftincalc.html)
Appearance: Sheety McExample has pale skin and black hair. Sheety is a tall, but slim imperial. One would, on the first look at him, think he's a huntsman.
Background: Sheety was walking in the woods when he felt a strange change in the air. He hadn't heard of the gates to the Battlespire, but he had found one. The gate was cleaverly hidden in a doorway to an abandoned shack. When Sheety opened the door, darkness embraced him and he felt as though he was going to be torn in two... He awoke when he flew right into a stone wall in a dark corridor...

Posting a sheet:
Unlike normal RPs, don't post you full char sheet into the OOC and Sign-Up thread. Instead, the GM will keep track of the full char-sheets. What you should post is the Basic information: Name, age, race, gender, height, appearence, background and clothing. The full char-sheet with your spent trait-points you will post to the GM. This way, those who arrive later in the RP can't look at the other players traits and calculate a sly sheet that wins all of them. Remember, only 21 points may be given to the four traits.

Smig
Victus Oriano-(Imperial)
Spoiler
Name: Victus Oriano
Age: 19
Race: Imperial
Gender: Male
Height: 5' 9'' (1.75 mt)
Appearance: Brown eyes and hair. His hair is combed straight forward and he has no facial hair. He looks very young. His body is slim. His clothing is expensive but not flashy. He carries a courier's bag on the side.
Background: Born in the Imperial City in a well established family of merchants, Victus was a very active child. Curious about everything, he quickly shown aptitude and interest for all matters concerning magicka. His parents decided to let him join the Synod where he delved deeply into his newfound interest and honed his potential and control of magicka.
He only studied for a few years before he and other students were given the dangerous assignment of collecting a Welkynd Stone. Most have been collected but there were still a few places where they could be found. One Ayleid ruin, in particular, was believed to have been cleared recently so it was identified as a good match for the group to find one. The expedition was supervised by an experienced mage, tasked not to interfere unless there was danger.
The expedition was uneventful, except for one thing. While no Welkynd Stone was found, Victus and the others did find this strange doorway. It was unnatural, its magicka could resonate through their bodies. The way ahead seemed blurry, changing ever so slightly with each gaze. The supervisor didn't immediately recognized what it was but he still followed the procedure and didn't allow its exploration. Instead, notes were taken for experienced mages to return to the location later.
Victus was bored though and his curiosity was eating away at him. He thought he could take a peek while no one's watching and then return to the group immediately. He trailed behind the others as they started moving and as soon as they turned the corner, he stepped through the doorway.
