Foul Murder

Better formulation: Gods have no healthy, functioning friendships. Apart from the God of Friendship. You'd like him.

I think so too, should I ever meet him.

Having Seht by their side must have given them confidence. Just saying.
Between the lot of em, I don't think any of them were exactly fearful of the heart save Nerevar. Hell, they may as well of been grinning at the implications of what it could do. But yes, having him there made them take quicker action then what most people would do when working with the heart of a dead god.

Although I was the first (I think) to say that perhaps Seht regrets the decision, I'm equally devoted to the possibility that he is has an air of impatience about him, or maybe he is internally scolding Dagoth for being so rash in using the Tools without the Wraithguard. It really could be anything. I do wish we had more of him, though. But, then again, he is the Mystery of Morrowind.

I was under the impression that Vehk's head was on fire, like he is often depicted in artwork.

APPY BIRTAY MARROWIN!
It's probably because this is before Vivec was a god. If his head was on fire while he was a mortal, it wouldn't have been very pleasant for him.

While we are on this mystery, another explanation is that Sotha Sil is impatient with the other two's love of ceremony. There the advlterous two are, basking in the symbolism of murdering their King, while 'Sil is left holding Wraithguard waiting for them to finish. If ever there was an anolytic mind, it belonged to the Mystery of Morrowind. "When you're finished.."

Alternatively, and it is the answer I like the best, Seht's unwillingless to watch the red act take place is the one element in the picture to restore ones faith in merkind.

All compelling points.

My take was that Seht was chastising Dagoth Ur with Wraithguard, whilst the other two performed their ceremony.

As Flannigus mentioned, it's Dagoth Ur, forced into the dirt by the mass-altering abilities of the Tools.

My second guess, and probably the more likely one.

He's also a person.
That's what I mean. Men don't brood all their lives; and 2920 depicts a sophist, not a father, hence the quotes.

No, wait. Seht's making Ur watch the ceremy through Nerevar's face! ... yes.

To me, Seht appears to be deep in thought. Remember, they had just been forced to put down Dagoth Voryn like a mad dog because he tampered with the heart carelessly. While the others are busy enjoying themselves, he's already hard at work figuring out how to safely access Lorkhan's power.

Men don't brood all their lives;

Highly debatable. At any rate, I think it's clear that Mer do.

And meanwhile, Ur's watching his friend die through his friend's face.

NO NO! We trust all these witnesses accounts of Red Mtn, neglecting the true eyes: Nerevar! He witnessed his murder. Ur's head was melting and Sul was Tribunal gunned. Both have their accounts, but neither witnessed. Nerevar alone did, a bystander to his martyrdom! bwa ha ha ho!

Such a miserable existence...Bosmer are debatable on that one though. They seem fairly well adjusted...for Mer.

Well adjusted? Well, aside from the obvious cannibalism, need I remind you of the paranoid Fargoths, the delusional Gaenors, the mad Glarthirs, etc? No, Sheo's touch runs deep with the Bosmeri if you ask me. They may not brood in quite the same way as the gravely voiced Dunmer, but they hrmph and sigh and stew like any other mer - excessively.

So Dagoth Ur confuses his with Nerevar's death?

Then why does he think Nerevar killed him!?

Who killed Dagoth Ur according to this picture?

Dagoth's account is different from this one. He never said Nerevar killed him, just he betrayed him.

That is bitter. The gods and fates are cruel. I served you faithfully once, Lord Nerevar, and you repaid me with death
Dagoth Ur did say thet Nerevar murdered him.

But that mean a betrayal too.

That reminds me...something I've always wondered about: Where is Alandro Sul supposed to be in all of this? According to the Ashlanders, he supposedly gave them his account of the events at Red Mountain and it seems likely he would of been there but he's never mentioned in any of the versions of the story.

Of course he was there. He even talked to you personally.
