The start of a new imperial line, the Skyrim PC?

I don’t know if this is the right section or not but having finally completed the civil war and main quest of Skyrim, one wonders shouldn’t my character be the next emperor?

It would seem the player’s character could lay claim to being the reincarnation of Tiber Septim (since you do appear to repeat a lot of what he did: the greybeards take you under their wings, your master the thu’um – a true son of Skyrim, and are a successful war cheiftan), or at least make claim on the (vacant) throne as being one of the most powerful warlords there is?

By the end of these two quest lines your character is dragonborn (if it still existed, wouldn’t your character be able to wear the Amulet of Kings?), has mastered the Thu'um, is supported by the blades, and have rebuilt the blades around people loyal to you (the veterans appear to give orders and act independently, but the recruits follow you). Your character already has their own private army of huscarls (my understanding is that historically huscarls provided the core army and militia bolstered them), and has more than likely raised the funds to be able to field their own army anyway. If you sided with the legion, you are a legate and wouldn’t you have access to imperial troops? Likewise with the stormcloaks. By the end of the of civil war and main quest you have more than likely helped more than the odd person and became thane in numerous locations, thus have gained vast political and popular support from all over Skyrim.

So, shall we march on the capital now?

I suppose it's possible, but it would be contradictory to the way Bethesda have handled this for the rest of the series. Most likely, the Dragonborn will just fade out of history, his (or her) identity a mystery.

My character isn't supported by the Blades. The Blades told me to f off because I refused to kill Paarthurnax (yes, that is a legitimate option; go talk to Angeir and you can tell him you won't kill Paarth, causing the "Paarthurnax" quest to disappear from your quest log), so they don't support me and I let the organization die with those two old fogies.

My guess would be that, regardless of whoever technically wins the civil war, Skyrim remains fractured and doesn't get the power needed to start another Empire.

Not that the PC could become such a significant person as the Emperor of Tamriel when we don't even know their race of gender, let alone motives. There would be a lot of baggage associated with letting certain races become Emperor (an Argonian or Altmeri Emperor would be a helluva big deal, IMO, especially at a time like this; not something you can really gloss over in the history books).

The only way I could see the PC becoming Emperor is if it only happens for such a short amount of time and in the midst of such chaos that most people wouldn't even know what was going on.

Oh i totally agree that it would go agaisnt how the games work, and of course as Huleed as just highlighted some factions (such as the blades) would not be supportive by the end of the game due to choices made.

The idea of a emperor being ousted soon after taking control, it does sound like the setup to a empire-wide civil war. Although then what would you expect to happen after one imperial general/rebel thinks they can take the throne :P

But regardless of race, another dragonborn emperor attempting for the throne - with whatever support they could muster after all that has gone on in Skyrim - would the people not want that after all what has gone on since the end of the Third Era?

My wild guess...

Tullius and Ulfric are both Dragonborn too, much like how both Wulfharth and Hjalti/Tiber were both Dragonborn. Tullius/Ulfric become the emperors and progenitors of a new Dragonborn dynasty. And while Reman only managed tribute from the Altmer, and Tiber needed a giant stompy robot, this time the Empire's ace in the hole for defeating Summerset will be... Dragons. You already have Odahviing submitting to your lordship, odds are you can rally other dragons to your cause. Maybe you can even convince Paarthurnax and his new disciples (if you decided not to go down the enslavement to principle route with the Blades) that subjecting the Thalmor to their Thu'um would be in service to the Gods.
