Something fishy...

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 5:05 pm

So, here's a new thing I've encountered.

I have interior cells with water, and I want fish in them... slaughterfish and dreugh, at this point... So, water creatures with no scripts just unique IDs placed in the water, and in-game... they refuse to stay in the water. they can fly, rise up over the gunwales and try to attack.

I've seen some fish out of water in the game before, both slaughterfish andsomeof abot's at times, but ALL of these that I placed come out and fly around. I have to admit the dreugh looks hilarious, all arms and legs and stuff flailing away, but it's not quite the experience I was looking to place.

I'm using MCPs water level fix (but not NoM's), but it occurs with or without MCP running. Any ideas on what's happening would really be appreciated.

Thanks,
Neil

Do you set "Swims" flag for those unique creatures?

I ddin't go to any extra effort to flag it... What I mean is that I opened the vanilla slaughterfish under the "creaturees" tab, changed the object ID and chose to create a new object when I saved.

The fish have all of the attributes of the stock creature, and I didn't change a thing. Looking at it now, I can see the 'swims" box is ticked. Really, the fish are more or less normal, but it seems like they just don't know when they are above water level.

EDIT:
Never mind, I used Enchanted Editor to delete all of the fish/dreugh and then cleaned the mod with testool. Now, new fish are behaving as expected. It was odd though... They were the only creatures I had placed in the mod.
