My thief should be stealing, not doing charity!

Here's a funny story. I always make thief characters, and my new Klawed Flaw is now a selfish charity worker thanks to the Imperial Cult. I feel so confused by this turn of events. I just wanted to make a thief like usual, and then... Thief doing charity work! I do enjoy those charity quests, though. Even if the Alms for the Poor one was so one dimensional in how it wanted to show dunmer. I could rant on and on about how that could have been done better. Yes, most give to the temple! Not all of them do! >_> That aside, shirtless Khajiit in ragged pants doing charity work. Will him getting to the top ranks of the imperial cult make doing the Thieves' Guild quests impossible, or will this just be a strange phase Klawed went through?

As far as I can remember, the Imperial Cult and Thieves Guild quests don't intersect. Quests intersecting is the only factor in Morrowind when you have to fear that you cannot complete a guild. This happens between Thieves and Fighters Guild, at least. Otherwise, you can do any guilds wholly, even if they were each others' sworn enemies. Telvanni and Mages Guild is an example close to that. You can still become the head of both with one character.

So, yes, it's just a strange phase in Klawed's life, and it has no effect on his status in the Thieves Guild. :)

Minor Thieves Guild spoiler follows.

Besides, you'll be doing a bit more charity in the late stages of Thieves Guild. ;) They're not all that evil themselves.
See? I was even kind enough to close to spoiler tag it even though this is a spoiler forum.

There won't be any conflicting questlines, no, and it's not that weird. People are weird and paradoxical all the time.

@Archmagister It's more than possible to do both the FG and TG at once.

You're a thief. Perhaps those Dunmer could end up making a 'donation' without realizing it...

Yes it is, but if you don't look things up from the net beforehand, there's a chance to get stuck. With TG and Imperial Cult, there's no such chance at all.

And yes, you should do... well, different kinds of charity work all at the same time. What better cover for a thief than a charity worker? :)

Fair point.

Also, I believe there is a bit of stealing in the Imperial Cult at one point. One of the low level quests.

True. I had to get rid of that save, sadly, so maybe my new thief should do the same. He couldn't have any cover since he's such a jerk about how everyone is terrible at keeping their stuff harder to steal.
